Coterie returns to New York in September
Informa Markets Fashion, organizer of fashion trade events including Magic and Project, confirmed the return of its flagship New York-based event, Coterie New York.

Featuring newly refocused merchandising strategies in its return to the show floor on September 19-21 at the Jacob Javits Center, Coterie New York wants to highlight a more product-forward experience for the elevated women’s contemporary market. Collectively located upstairs on “Level 3,” apparel will be cohesively showcased with footwear and accessories. This “complete look” approach in featuring multiple product categories alongside each other is meant to provide retailers with a more streamlined shopping experience to discover a larger array of products – from premium to affordable luxury price points - while giving brands opportunity to meet more retailers and better target the right buyers for their brand.

Retailers can also find an updated assortment of apparel categories, such as Elevated Contemporary Collections, Vintage, Footwear, Accessories, and Beauty along with the return of Destination (Coterie’s swimwear and resortwear platform) and Edit (a hub for elevated and advanced international collections).

Furthermore, Coterie New York will feature “curations”, such as minority-owned, and sustainable brands, which will be displayed and woven throughout the show floor to highlight new areas of shopping interest.

Expanding beyond the live event, an accompanying digital showroom platform will also be available before, during, and, after the event.

Coterie will also return to Miami in July during Swim Week with Destination: Miami by Coterie, Informa Markets Fashion’s previously announced women’s resortwear and swimwear market event. Located at Eden Roc Hotel in Miami Beach and along with sister event, Project: Miami, it will showcase vacation-inspired apparel, accessories, and footwear.

Informa launches new event in New York
Informa Markets Fashion has announced the debut of a new, twice-annual women’s and children’s East Coast market event, Magic New York. Serving new and differentiated market segments from Magic’s flagship event in Las Vegas, this trade show will also feature brands previously available at other New York fashion events organized by Informa and therefore replace Fame, Moda, Children’s Club and Sole Commerce.

Hosted on September 19-21, 2021, at the Jacob Javits Center and at the same time as flagship Coterie event, Magic New York will feature apparel, footwear, and accessories brands on “Level 1” of the convention center. As the new home for brands previously included within Fame, Moda, Children’s Club and Sole Commerce, the event will showcase a variety of categories, such as Young Contemporary, Sportswear, Trend, Footwear, Accessories, and Children’s, as well as the introduction of a new onsite curation, “emerging designers.”

“Presenting a focused edition of our flagship Las Vegas event in a new, key market is part of our aim to generate more diverse avenues of connection and commerce for our community,” says Jordan Rudow, VP of events at Magic.

Magic’s previously announced flagship event, Magic Las Vegas will return on August 9-11, 2021, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, joined by sister events Project Las Vegas (contemporary mens- and womenswear) and Sourcing at Magic (sourcing and supply chain market event).

Techtextil India: First hybrid edition moves to November 2021
The trade fair for technical textiles, nonwovens and composites, originally scheduled in September 2021, has now been postponed and will run 25-27 November 2021 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. This will be the first-ever hybrid edition as the trade fair will be held as a physical expo in conjunction with its online event on the same dates. Trade show organizer Messe Frankfurt India feels that moving the show ahead is a necessary step that will in-turn create a healthy business environment when the industry can finally come together.

“In the coming months, our efforts will be strongly focused on meeting the safety imperatives and working in co-operation with venue authorities and service providers to implement a comprehensive safety concept, aligned with government guidelines,” says Raj Manek, executive director and board member, Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd.
