Amazon has the original for 29.99. Which is 10$ cheaper than the 3DS version.

I have to disagree with the review. All it does throughout the whole review is b**** about how it doesn't add anything (does not specify, incredibly unprofessional) and b**** about the voice acting. I don't care, I just wanna hear about the game. If OoT3D gets a decent score with absolutely no added content, why doesn't this game get a score comparable to the original? Do the additional contents make the game worse? What about the 8th day? Wanna maybe talk about it? All in all, you guys agreeing with the reviews probably already own the game -_-. I'd rather have an informative review, not this bs.

1). If you want to read about the content then read the original review. 2). Lot got a better score because it actually felt like an enhancements even though now new content was added. Plus the game play was more streamlined to take advantage of the bottom screen along with strong 3Dthird visuals. Devil Survivor on the other hand is a game that came our less than two years ago and made an enhanced port with its visuals being barely enhancedd visuals and voice acting that IGN and I both think is subpart along with an endgame that was used as a selling point that is short.

If you haven't played the game then by all means get it, but for me people who have already played it like me, this doesn't really qualify as an expansion when there us very little new gameplay content. Not worth paying $40 for.

TheSuspected posted... Devil Survivor got 8.7. This port is in no way worse. Extra content, voice acting, improved visuals. First time I'm actually disappointed in a review, when this game is clearly breathing life into the JRPG genre.

Eh, whatever.

Gotta love how reviews do that alot to games. They give a good store for the original. But give the exact same game with extra content a lower score. Really doesnt make sense. Sure a person thought of it wears off but as a whole it should be fixed.

They mention the fact that voice acting could be turned off if it bothers you too much......do people actually turn off voice acting? I wouldn't.....seems like a waste.

After I turned the the voices off for Magna Carta 2, it became one of my favorite games. Much better to read than listen to, probably the worst voiceover since some early TurbografxCD games.

Casually Hardcore.

7.5? Reading this topic made it seem like they gave it a 4.5. It's a fine score for a port of a DS game.

LightHawKnight posted... A review from someone like you might be biased. A professional review however should have no bias, or incredibly small amount of bias, explaining the pros and cons of the game without getting pissy about it.

See, there's a problem here: why do you assume that an unbiased review will be a favorable one?

Meant to edit my post, but I deleted it instead T_T.

The game does deserve some credit for having everything voiced over and having the option to turn them off (there are a lot of games where voices can't be turned off) whether they are bad or not to someone.

Some voices might not fit that well (Naoya comes to mind), but there's nothing eargrating except the characters who look like they would be really annoying by their dialogue (Yuzu).

I can understand if someone does not want to buy the same game more than once though if the extra content does not justify the $40 purchase to them. But the same can be said about all the other enhanced remakes/ports on 3DS and the ones that are about to come. The one thing that OoT remake has going for it is Master Quest being included with it since that was only available with the pre-order of WindWaker, which may be why a lot of people will rate the game pretty high outside of nostalgia.

see, what no one seems to understand is that reviews also consider the value proposition. the ocarina of time remake is an actual REMAKE with far better graphics (compare them for yourself, it's a marked difference) of a 12 year old game. this is a slapdash port of a 2 year old game with the exact same graphics and hardly anything added. i can understand atlus wanting to add their prologue or whatever, but you can't justify their decision to sell it at 40 DOLLARS! p3 FES added far more than this and came out at a budget price. i'm a big smt fan and bought this game on day one and i'm very disappointed. it seems like a cash grab on atlus's part and that's pretty s*****. honestly, the reviewer gave it a better score than i would've. and if she doesn't like tha va, she doesn't like the damn va. reviewers are paid for their opinion on a game, no review is unbiased. if you want truly unbiased reviews, then go ahead and design and program REVIEW-O-TRON 3000.

Is Devil Survivor a good game?

Latest Critic Reviews Still, aficionados of the Megami Tensei universe will undoubtedly get a kick out of the game's intriguing story and colorful cast while fans of turn-based combat might just find an addicting and innovative adventure - just don't expect an RPG that'll re-invent the wheel.

Is Devil Survivor 1 hard?

I'd say the difficulty level is fair. It's not too hard (except for a special optional boss), and if you don't want an easy game, you can avoid the free battles. Most of the battles are not difficult, but some boss battles (in which you're predicted to perish) can be quite tight.

Which version of Devil Survivor is best?

It really just comes down to preference here. Devil Survivor 1 had a great premise, writing, and I think it got the whole "survivor" part down very well. Devil Survivor 2 on the other hand, has really strong characters, a fresh soundtrack, and more streamlined gameplay with better replay value.

Is Devil Survivor easy?

Really, easy mode isn't even that much easier than normal mode. If you want to rush through the game, easy would probably be the better choice. But I wouldn't advise that, because this game is really good. The only difference between Easy and Normal is that you get 20% more Macca and Experience.
