Fv hospital ho chi minh reviews

The FV hospital was established in 2003 by a group of French doctors and got the name FV, which stand for Franco-Vietnamese.

In the hospital you can find a total of 220 beds and it provides healthcare services that are excellent and a reasonable price for Vietnamese standards. Here you can also attend training for nurses, medical students and doctors organized by the hospital.

The FV hospital uses the high standard equipment and the latest procedures that you expect at a hospital. The staff is well qualified and is very helpful and attentive. This is also a popular hospital among expats to have their regular checkups or when they are expecting a baby. There is always personnel around that can assist you by speaking English. It is also not strange to encounter some staff that can assist you in French.

😠 First off. Nobody speaks english. Even if they have an english sticker or identifier, don’t trust it. The english they speak is about the level of a 5 year old. So good luck explaining you (your family member) have(has) ______ insert ailment: (CVA, myocardial infarction, thromboembolism, glomerulone... People often mention hospital, doctor, good, care, doctors, call, service, time, staff, experience,

First off. Nobody speaks english. Even if they have an english sticker or identifier, don’t trust it. The english they speak is about the level of a 5 year old. So good luck explaining you (your family member) have(has) ______ insert ailment: (CVA, myocardial infarction, thromboembolism, glomerulonephritis, pneumothorax. Doctors speak decent english. However, Doctors are aggressive, rude, and race you to talk. And they’re there for about 3 minutes and leave and you never see them again the entire day. Nurses and care staff are undertrained and incompetent. I’ve been a nurse long enough to know and recognize such blatant mistakes. Inability to perform hand hygiene, botching sterile procedures, not wearing exam gloves when needed. I had to remind many of them of aseptic technique to wipe IV port with alcohol prep pad. I had to remind them to properly prime syringes and not push air, this can lead to air embolism. Just blatant nursing 100 level mistakes. The service is just as bad. It takes them forever to get anything done. Food? Forget it. And if you have pain? Dizziness? Diarrhea? Any aliment that needs urgent attention. It will be under managed! These are basically the guys that just let you suffer in bed and only come when they need to do something to you. Every ailment or symptom I have had I request medication and they give me either the wrong drug or the most ineffective treatment for such. And then when I reiterate that my pain/nausea/sleep has not improved, they offer the same medicine. Doing the same thing over and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. For my pain + cough they should have offered codeine right off the bat. For nausea, Ondansetron. For sleep, a strong long acting benzo. I had to argue with them countless times before they gave me the care/help/drugs that were palliative and which finally gave relief. But only after arguing with them and proving their drugs were ineffective. I’m sure there are better hospitals in Ho Chi Minh city than this one. Why does this one pride itself as the best? 24 people found this review helpful 👍

Surprised when Madam from customer service said that I need to translate medical records from French to English. I thought the name of your hospital is - Franco-Vietnamese hospital, but maybe she doesn't know. Two years I used this hospital, and spent about 11 000 USD! I came to proceed with a blood test that I need to send to a laboratory in France. Firstly, local staff don't know how to use excel file, they can not find the name of the test from row of data. I was waiting for 2 hours when all this highly qualified staff from the laboratory translated the name of the test from French and made a search in the file. Be aware about prices, the financial department just multiply prices twice. They counted how much you spent in the hospital and for your next visit they give you a higher price than before. The price in the laboratory in France was 600 EUR and these dodgers just multiplied all prices twice and gave me 1400 EUR for the same tests. Shame to work that way! Shame to serve customers in not respectful manner! Shame do your job in the hospital and be not qualified for your position 14 people found this review helpful 👍

Used to be a good hospital. Now it operates like a factory. No matter what your problem is, the doctor immediately recommends expensive tests. I went with a fever and cough and they immediately wanted to do Chest X-Ray and Dengue fever test before confirming I had an infection or even asking me if I had exposure to mosquitoes. They just rush you to tests and see the next patient. There is almost no time with the doctor. You can get better care cheaper at many competitors. 14 people found this review helpful 👍

I had a simple fracture in my wrist and the doctor said I'd need an MRI and surgery. A Vietnamese friend brought me to a local clinic instead. Got an x ray and cast and was perfect in 6 weeks. FV constantly looks to do unnecessary tests and procedures to make money. Highly unethical practice. 8 people found this review helpful 👍

I had a terrible experience at FV hospital. It took them 9 hours and many expensive tests to diagnose a condition that I had informed them of within my first 5 minutes there. I had requested a consultation for treatment of this pre-existing condition from the start. After 9 hours, their only solution was a very invasive and unnecessary surgery, when there were less expensive and less invasive options available. If I had known that they would only offer a major surgery, I would not have wasted the 9 hours “diagnosing” the condition in the first place. Please do a better job of listening to patients and their needs. 8 people found this review helpful 👍

We have been here few times with my son and every time it's quite sad experience. If you have appointment and come in time you still need to wait almost an hour to visit a doctor. If you want to use your insurance you will be waiting for few more hours to get your medicine. Apparently there is no structured way of confirming whether your insurance covers it or not, even if you used same insurance in this hospital before 7 people found this review helpful 👍

I had an MRI here. It costs a lot. The procedure getting the MRI was pretty smooth. But they just gave me the results in an envelope to read myself. No doctor available to even explain what they mean. Apparently they misunderstood my situation which is quite serious. They thought I was referred just for an MRI and would take them back to another hospital. I told them this was not the case but they continued to try and tell me I was wrong. It's very frustrating if the staff don't even try to understand the patient, especially if they charge you such a high price. 5 people found this review helpful 👍

Cannot recommend this hospital enough!! The staff were amazing, so helpful and kind. Everyone I came across spoke very good English (and some speak French) so if you’re a foreigner don’t worry about the language barrier. The service was quick and easy, the doctor listened and was very helpful and gave me good antibiotics for my tonsillitis that had closed up my throat. They give you receipts and all the documents you need for travel insurance. They even give you a healthcare card in case you need to go visit again. Definitely go here if you need any medical service in Saigon 5 people found this review helpful 👍

Around 4 am 17/10/2022, I called to FV for an emergency. There is just question on my address. But there is still no ambulance come to my address. I did call back and the operater said: You did not provide telephone number, so I still do not call for an ambulance?? It is so urgent that could affect to a patient life but FV's phone can not see the number when someone call to their hotline so that can not call back to the patient???? Please understand that requiring for an ambulance means it is really urgent, even it was around 4 AM. After providing my personal phone number, someone call to ask SO SLOWLY before they agree to send an ambulance to me. Then I decided to call the taxi, just 5mins later, so lucky that I picked a one successfully. In that afternoon, when arriving home after a health check, I called again to ask some question that what should I do if any danger situation occurs again. But the doctor said: "There is no patient come to FV this morning in the situation as you said". WTH?? He did not ask me any question as the bill, the time, the name of the patient. I continued require to check again and let me talk with the doctor. He said: "That doctor finished his shift". And he said it was impossible to connect. You'd better bring the patient to the hospital and, oh sorry, you could bring the patient to any hospital, FV is out of bed. Is it the style of a foreign hospital providing health care service in my country? 5 people found this review helpful 👍

DONT VISIT. very bad experience for the delivery for my wife. They cheated us converting normal delivery into C section. They never give you proper details. Even you pay 20M per day they don't mange any reports. Pediatrician Department - only one doctor is good rest all very bad. Even in NICU they didn't give us the proper update. its really very very bad experience for us. Insurance department wont help you at the right time and make you to pay from your pocket. Nurse in Maternity ward are good. just a one point. 5 people found this review helpful 👍

Been to FV a few times and always receive positive experiences, staffs are polite and professional, doctor were caring and knowledgeable. Consultation charges were 680k compare to Raffles Medical that charge 2.3m (US$100). Wish the cafe has more choices of food. 5 people found this review helpful 👍

It's a hit or miss with this place. My wife had knee replacement surgery. They did great. I had hernia surgery (diastasis recti). They bombed. Using laparoscopic surgery, they inserted a mesh across my abodominal area. A few months later, I was rushed to the ER when my abdomen swelled and expelled blood. The mesh was infected with some kind of bacteria. They had to cut me open to remove the mesh. Adding insult, FV charged me for their surgical screw-up. When I asked about my hernia, they said I would be fine and the stitches would hold together. Not true. The hernia bulge was worse, so I went to Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok for corrective surgery. New mesh was installed but the doctors noted some of my abs were ruined when previous infected mesh was removed by FV. Now I have massive scars along my abdominal area. Best to go to Bangkok. 4 people found this review helpful 👍

I had a problem and needed an MRI scan , the french old man doctor knew that only MRI scan will show the soft tissues but he sent me to have a CT scan however the Vietnamese girl at his office didn't like the idea. So after CT scan and 3 million vnd less, he told me that I have to get MRI scan ,I was so angry and told him that he knew the CT scan wouldn't help but he sent me anyway just to milk me with money and he knew that I haden't health insurance. My advice is don't go to that grey hair french doctor. 4 people found this review helpful 👍

The doctors are actually good here but whoever is in charge of the business of the hospital is a money hungry troll. If you're going at night, this is what we got in the emergency room. We came for a consultation but we got charged for a nurse who checked blood pressure, the doctors consultation and a hospitals fee. After that you get "bed monitoring fee" 1x nurse + 1x doctor + 1x hospital fee again. It's 600k just for the nurse to insert an injection. They've literally slapped a price on everything they can. 4 people found this review helpful 👍

Established in March 2003 by Dr. Jean-Marcel Guillon and a group of French doctors, FV Hospital was founded with the ambition to bring international-standard healthcare services to Vietnam. Located in the new urban area of District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, FV has become a one-stop provider of comprehensive care for residents living in the city and surrounding areas. As the first hospital in Southern Vietnam to achieve JCI accreditation, FV is known for its international-standard care, commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services, and patient-centered approach. With over 950 staff members, including 130 Vietnamese and international doctors, FV offers healthcare services in more than 30 specialties and has a capacity of 220 beds. In addition, FV has a multi-disciplinary clinic in District 1, the commercial center of Ho Chi Minh City. Besides providing services for Vietnamese citizens, FV also treats patients from neighboring countries such as Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. On April 6, 2022, FV Hospital held a ceremony to officially announce it was taking ownership of the American Chiropractic Clinic (ACC). Owning ACC is a strong addition and expansion of the FV healthcare ecosystem, and will allow FV to meet a greater diversity of patient care needs. This review is due to a lack of knowledge that simple. As a foreigner I recommend that all other foreigners and locals stay far away from this hospital. That goes for anybody who may be sick, unless it's an emergency I would avoid this hosptial like the plague. I had a PET scan done at a different hospital that only has Vietnamese speaking doctors who cannot read me my results in English. My wife did research prior to the scan and she was told by FV Hospital staff that I could bring my PET scan to this hospital to have it read and relayed to me in English. I was warned that sometimes the CD Rom the other Hospital provides with the images works and sometimes it doesn't. I felt they've done several of these and were knowledgeable. That was until I tried to call today to make the appointment. I now have my PET Scan in hand and I called this Hospital back to set an appointment to have my results read to me. This morning my first point of contact was the operator who answered the phone. While I was delighted that a human answers, not a computer phone system, my call was answered by an unknowledgeable team member that has no idea the Hospital offers the above PET Scan reading service. When I explained the above, she asked me what area was scanned my hip, my neck, my back? I said, you are obviously unaware of what a PET SCAN is, it scans the entire body head to toe. Please get me someone who knows what a PET scan is, she instead asked me to go on your website and fill out a form. I declined and asked for her boss, she instead took my phone number and saying she will call me back. She did not call back, she had a Hospital interpreter call me back who said "I'm sorry we do not have a PET Scan here". I said I know that and I told the other lady that I do not need the skin I already have the scan from another hospital and all I want is your doctor to read it to me". She asked for another call back, I agreed and waited. While waiting for her second call, I went to their website and completed the appointment form which let's you book IMAGING Department no sooner than two days out. I completed the online appointment form. The interpreter called me back saying they can read my PET Scan from the other hospital but the doctor is abroad for the next 3 weeks and asked me to contact them again at that time. I said, Thank you and hung up. About 5 minutes later I got a phone call from my web submission which had a text box I could enter text " I would like a doctor to read my pet scan from another hospital" this was the last individual that called me back today saying "I'm sorry we do not offer a service that reads your PET SCAN service". I told her this unbelievable, so many unknowledgeable team members so this 1-Star review was coming and would remain here until Hospital management trains their employees properly on what services are and aren't offered. When management contacts me and informs me that training has been completed, I'll adjust this review. Otherwise it's well deserved and will remain here. 3 people found this review helpful 👍

I‘ve been coming here for 4 years but will change now. They’ve had a lot of money from my and from my insurance in that time. I recently paid for a blood test and they never sent me the results. I had to email 3 times before they sent them after over 6 weeks ( I was told I would get back in 2 weeks) and in the meantime I was worried sick. I suspect they lost the blood sample and fobbed me off with an all-clear test. So far no explanation, or proper apology. Shop around. There must be better private hospitals here now than this. Urology and Ophthalmology doctors are very good though. 3 people found this review helpful 👍

Always a mess on the planning. Over and over the same problem with them. You book an appointment, and when you show up on that time they give many excuse because on the system they booked it on another day… For a private & expensive hospital it’s a shame! Same story to get a vaccin in here, it was the worst experience. You are just a income for them. Not human at all. If you can avoid this hospital by finding the doctor you need somewhere else, go for it! 3 people found this review helpful 👍

"World Class Facility", I was trested here for 8 days for a mild stroke the care was professional in every aspect from the time I was admitted to the day I was released. Upon my return to Alberta, Canada I was checked over at the Heart and Stroke Clinic at the University of Alberta, after looking at my charts from FV the comment was the same that I recieved as good if not better care at FV, as the specialist from the U of A commented there would be no way that the U of A would be able to facilitate a MRI and a Cat Scan in 24 hours let alone 8 days. I want to thank the staff and doctors who looked after me for the great care I was given. 3 people found this review helpful 👍

Very expensive, unsuccessful hand surgery. Doctor very overconfident of his ability for success. In hindsight, I should of listened to a friend that told me to fly home or to somewhere like Singapore to do it. Now they said they can do the surgery again, nearly 7 months after. No thanks. 2 people found this review helpful 👍

FV hospital is a bad hospital. Communication is bad as many doctors speak poor english. Even worse, doctors do not respond to request for appointments. One doctor went on holidays in the middle of my treatment without informing me or referring me to a colleague during his absence. The team handling insurance for clients with insurer are disaster. They are not only extremely slow but unprofessional, lacking of expertise and experience that costs me nearly 2 hours with the unsuccesfull delivery. And this not happened once, it is a pattern. The insurer also feels exhausted with their handling. With that same handling it would take max 30 mins from other hospitals. 2 people found this review helpful 👍

Like most of the reviews say, it's true they are all about making money. As for quality of care, I can't say. They scared me away with the price. Much higher prices than American hospitals. When they quote you a price, they say it's not much and it's unbelievably high priced. The positive is they are very organized and most of the staff is quite friendly and helpful. 1 person found this review helpful 👍

I don't know what other people complain about. The service was good and the price was somewhat reasonable. The only issue I had was that the doctor was sick (coughing and sneezing), and my fiance caught it from him and then gave it to me. Now, she is in the hospital with a high fever. I am not sure why that guy was allowed to work in that condition and without a mask. But hey...🤔🤔 1 person found this review helpful 👍

      1. The doctors are competent, you won't really find betters doctors in Vietnam, although for eye care European Eye Center is *vastly* superior to FV Hospital. 2. The hospital has virtually zero privacy; you have to show your prescription to four separate people to get it filled (the secretary in the clinic, then a special billing secretary, then a security guard at the pharmacy, then the pharmacist). Once you're called up to the pharmacy to get your prescription there are 6 lanes with no privacy and pharmacy workers shouting out what prescription people are being given and how to take it, etc... 1 person found this review helpful 👍

I have had 3 surgeries done at this hospital and pleased with the care, the staff and doctors there along with the facility. First-rate, world class vascular surgery. The immediate after-care was good along with excellent follow-up care. This hospital is more expensive than the other public hospitals, but the modern 1st world facility and care is well worth it to me. Nurses, doctors, pharmacists and billing personnel spoke English well. If you are travelling in Vietnam and need any kind of care, I highly recommend FV Hospital over all the others in Saigon area.

I am very impressed by the services from FV. It was my first time, and from the initial message to book an appointment, it felt organised and professional. The building in itself is impressive and all staff were attentive and trying their hardest to impress, it seemed - from the reception desk, to the medical assistants. Unfortunately, some medical establishments will do "extra work" to take more money, but this was certainly not the case at FV. What was needed to be done was done, and that's the reason that I am looking to book further procedures with FV. Dept was Dermatology, and Dr Orieux was on top of his game!

I feel the doctor at the Orthopaedics Department (no name call out, I believe FV know which is meant), is not very helpful - had a knee injury, knee filled up with fluid - doctor said to do an MRI (around 6 mio) - after the MRI pics came out, he came to the conclusion that it will go away in a couple of days and I should not worry The only thing concerning me is that instead of giving me advise how treat the knee filled with fluid for the remaining days as I could not move (rest, coll down, etc). Instead he recommend me to take out a bit of knee fluid and make a tubercolose and cancer test right away which would have cost (extra 11mio) I am still not sure if that was a serious advise or an attempt to upsell. I am wondering if docs have sales KPI as part of their performance. I will def take the pictures and go to another hospital to check. 2 stars for the nice and clean waiting room and maschine, but no clear treatment and advise.

I'm a long distance runner and tennis coach. I've attended twice FV hospital to improve my posture and running form. Once for an appointment with an osteopath from the Rehabilitation Department and the second time I visited again the same osteopath and a doctor at the Pain Department and both times I'd a very good impression of the hospital. Doctors behaved in a high professional and friendly manner and went the extra mile to help with my case. The hospital itself is clean and not that far away from District 1.

The he FV Hospital has great service and professional staff and doctors. I went there for the first time and got a hospital ID card that allowed me to go straight to the appropriate clinic. The facility is cleaned and organized. I had a minor outpatient surgery on my first visit thinking that my insurance would cover it. However, I was told it was not covered at the check out counter. As a new customer with a new health insurance, I did not understand why it didn’t cover. I would recommend you check with your insurance provider before you go there. Otherwise, you will have to pay yourself like I did for 5, 000, 000 VND which was still less than my copay in the USA.

Hello Everybody My name is Kevin , from Australia. I was admitted on 31 October for a hip operation, performed by Dr Phat on 1 November 2022. I was discharged Mon 7 November 2022 . I wish to congratulate the whole FV team for a very positive experience. The preliminary test day on 25 October, organised by Ms Mai ( Orthopedics ) was thorough and professional. The admission on 31 October was professional and timely. All my experience in the ward were wonderful – nurses, caterers, cleaners and more .. It was great of Ms Hwa from Customer Service to visit twice . The Operating Theatre experience was great – the anaesthesia team and Dr Phat , and nurses and supporters, all did a fabulous job. The Physio Team – Mr Hwye, Mr Doong, Mr Tuc, Ms Toong – all helped me very well. The Ward Team.. in organising my documents, medicines, stores, and accounts for discharge – were first class. The door attendants helped me in and out of the hospital very well. My only curious questions are: 1.WHY NO CAFÉ or SHOP ON WEEKENDS ? I would have thought .. busy time for visitors and so “ good for business” .. a small comment . 2. WHY NO CUSTOMER SURVEY ON DISCHARGE ? So.. thank you for making a challenging project of hip replacement .. EASY Mr Kevin
