Afternoon tea at the shard reviews năm 2024

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the behaviour and service provided by your sommelier during my recent visit to Aqua Shard. As a patron, I expect a certain level of professionalism and courtesy, which unfortunately was severely lacking during my dining experience.

Throughout the evening, I observed the sommelier Roberto Signorino (gently indicated by Jasmine) engaging in highly inappropriate behaviour that not only made me uncomfortable but also detracted from the overall ambience of your establishment. Specifically, the sommelier repeatedly grabbed his crotch, scratched his beard in a manner that suggested poor hygiene, and blatantly stared at guests in a manner that was both unsettling and unprofessional.

Furthermore, the service provided by the sommelier was egregiously slow and neglectful as he was busy liaising with a waitress with glasses. Despite numerous attempts to catch his attention, my party and I were left waiting for extended periods before receiving any form of assistance. This lack of attentiveness greatly diminished our enjoyment of the meal and left a lasting negative impression.

In addition to the aforementioned concerns regarding the sommelier's behaviour and service, I am also deeply concerned about the potential health risks posed by his apparent disregard for personal hygiene. The constant scratching of his beard and groin area could indicate the presence of skin disorders or other health issues that may pose a risk to both staff and patrons alike.

As a paying customer, I find it unacceptable that such behaviour and service standards are tolerated within your establishment. I urge you to take immediate action to address these issues and ensure that all staff members adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and hygiene. Failure to do so not only reflects poorly on your establishment but also jeopardizes the health and satisfaction of your patrons.

I trust that you will take this matter seriously and implement the necessary measures to rectify the situation. I look forward to seeing improvements in both the behaviour of your staff and the overall quality of service provided at Aquashard.

Sincerely, Andrew Burns

I've been recently at Aqua and an old…

I've been recently at Aqua and an old sommelier man dropped a bottle of wine on our shoes, never apologised, and could not speak English. I find it very negligent of the sommelier team to hire such people and remind them that to get a customer-facing job the applicant must have a UK GCSE or IELTS with a 7.5 score. The receptionist Jasmine told us his name is Salvatore Scalas, try to avoid him if you have to visit this venue as he is a disaster serving and stinks of mould asparagus. Rose W.

Aqua Shard - evening dinner

Totally agree about the "dress code". Majority of people in very casual attire. The views are amazing but the food and drink prices for this "experience" are astronomic. Cajoled into buying champagne by the glass which works out at about 6 times the retail price. £52 for a miniscule portion of what was supposed to be Dover sole with inedible broad beans and girolles and no monksbeard as per the menu. What a rip off.

We waited 55 minutes and nobody served…

We waited 55 minutes and nobody served us. The afternoon Tea was disgusting Our table was disgusting. Dirty was not clean lots of food breadcrumbs on the table When I complain for the service The arrogant RUDE manager told me we are busy There is nothing I can do and he laughed at me Stay away from this place is completely ripped off. They do not have any manners or Customer Service skill at all. MacDonald is 100% better than this disgusting place. It’s a very shame and sad place to go. The view is brilliant but unfortunately the service is third class rip off our sandwiches was extremely soggy disgusting scone was very cold hard like a stone when I complain The rude manager laughed at us again and he told us that’s what it is What’s in your table. We waited 55 minutes to get served. I have to get up three times for service. This place is Worse than street food of philippine in advance near the window and they refuse to give us. They were a few empty tables we are Asian maybe because of the colour it sounds like it was racist. They totally ignored us and they were too busy serving other British people. Shame on them shame shame shame. Disgusting🤮🤮

If you like a sub standard afternoon…

If you like a sub standard afternoon tea then this is the place for you.The website for the Shard says that there is a dress code and smart casual is acceptable. However the vast majority of people were wearing jeans, t shirts and some were in shorts and even ripped jeans and baseball caps. If anyone from the Shard reads this then please remove the dress code requirement from your description as it just isn't true. I mentioned this to the server at the time who just shrugged. Service was ok and food passable but of the same standard as a motorway service station. Please visit the Ritz and see how afternoon. tea is done and for only 10 pounds more.

Wanted to treat my wife

Went to the Shard for afternoon tea as a special treat for my wife. The surroundings and ambience were what you would expect from such a prestigious venue. The service was reasonable. But the food when it came was very average, a few finger sandwiches which were poor (I've had far better sandwiches from Asda). There was a very small bread roll with Ratatouille in it (disgusting), a few small sweet things which were ok. But for £163 for two people, I think it was vastly overpriced!!

Watch out for the disgraceful security staff on the ground floor Miriam is very unpleasant!!

Great restaurants but the most appalling security girl downstairs called "Miriam" wouldn't let my 84 year old Mother wait in the warm foyer for a few minutes for the taxi (on a freezing November night!!!???) and then actually shoved her in the revolving door after being extraordinarily rude - how is the girl still employed - after spending £1000 on dinner!!!!? Surely she should be fired - what a dreadful young girl!!!!!

Save your money

Save your money - you pay £70 for a “brunch” that gave you a piece of belly pork the size of a slice of cake and not a single other thing on your plate. Charged for water that they push for you to have and was declined. Having to chase up 3 times a round of drinks - go anywhere else for better service than that they put 15% on the bill for!! Views are amazing though and surroundings nice but £500 for what should cost £60 - not worth the money!!

Great service, good food and view

We visited the Aquashard whilst in London as part of our 15th wedding anniversary celebrations. Looking at what we got - we paid a premium for mostly the service we received from our waiter, Justo, who made this experience great for us.

The service we received was the stand out part for us here, because Justo took into account the reason for our visit, really made us feel welcome, and did his best to make this a great experience for us.

The food was good, and had a minimalistic feel to it. The stand out aspect of this was the pastry elements; speaking as a City and Guilds trained Chef (many years ago!) I'd say the Pastry Chef has a great future ahead.

In summary, based on this visit, the Aquashard is for you if you want: great service, good food (notably pastry aspects, and the view from the Shard.

I'm very surprised at the negative negative reviews

I'm very surprised at the negative reviews and makes me question their authenticaty. Yes, the drink prices are fairly high but this is a special place not McDonald's. Service, food and the spectacular view made for a wonderful 18th birthday celebration for my son. The only improvement I would look to make is the lack of mask by the table staff. Watch out for the maskless lady who leans in close whilst talking and wiping the table clean, between courses. Rather a good way to spread disease I'd say.

Turn the lights up.

View is lovely, food and service terrible! The atmosphere was cold, the lighting was so dim it was hard to see the terrible food, which is way over priced. I ordered a rare steak that came medium. I told the server, even showed him using the torch on my phone. He took it away and a manager came over and said it was rare and they would cook the next one, blue. I said no, I want a rare steak not blue. My partner then realised he had my rare steak, the server had switched them, rookie mistake in a high end restaurant. Then to rub salt in the wound they placed a blue steak in front of me.

Don’t bother unless you are computable-bodied

Went today with pre-booked tickets. Still queued for nearly 55 minutes. Have just had a hip replacement and find it difficult to stand for extended periods, nowhere to sit and when I asked about only option I was told it was reserved. Unless you like standing around for hours don’t bother!

Amazing experience

Amazing experience. Amazing views. Aside from that when you have a question they have what is called the London Expert. Two of them were walking around. And Chris in particular answered all of my questions. Made the experience that much better.

We booked and paid for vouchers for the tasting and wine pairing menu as a birthday present to ourselves last October. 6 months on we’re still being told that there isn’t a tasting menu in place in book a date for. The call handlers who take our calls have no idea when we’ll be able to book for.

It’s outrageous that they take your money and a lot of it and don’t offer what they’re promoting

Rude staff at the security check…

Rude staff at the security check point.. an Asian woman at the security point saw me taking a selfie, she was going through my photos (and phone) saying I took videos and I should delete it. I told this silly girl I don’t have videos on my phone and she insisted saying I did have them, she became rude and mannerless when she found nothing.. she should go do a training on how to approach a customer👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

Trip was great when we got up topside

Trip was great when we got up topside. Bar service was swift and reasonably priced not overcrowded, but with a nice bustle and sense of excitement.

However, the queueing downstairs was not well organised. A single queue maintained along the footpath with a mix of entry times, pulled out from queue - at least in strict time rotation. Booking for 14:30, finally got up top for 15:30. We did not have anything else booked, so no issue. If you had tight itinerary, this may have been dealbreaker.
