What’s Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel?

Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel is a unique jelly-oil hybrid that transforms into a dry oil on application. Like the classic Bio-Oil skincare oil, it absorbs quickly into the skin and is packed with the all the vitamins and minerals you already already know and love.

It’s an oil-based gel, which might sound a little contradictory at first, but once it’s applied to skin, it spreads like an oil to moisturize the skin. Because the formula replaces water content with oil, it penetrates the skin at a deeper level then lotions, helping your skin to become hydrated and stay hydrated for longer.

I Used Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel for 14 Days

and This Is What Happened

For my 14 day trial, I applied the the Bio-Skin Dry Skin Gel nightly before bed on my hands and feet before I went to bed, and gave my hands an additional application during the mornings as I started my day.

The starting condition of the skin on my hands were quite poor. They are generally quite dry year round from frequent washing and use, but even more so during the colder months of the year.

The skin around my cuticles are often hard and would sometimes peel. The tops of my hands were always driest and from time to time I would suffer from eczema on my fingers.

My feet were in ever poorer condition, especially my heels, as well as the balls of my feet. I often do barefoot workouts like barre, pilates, and yoga which aggravated the condition of my dry skin more.

My heels are particular dry and cracked and the balls of my feet have rough callouses on them from wearing heels. I know this doesn’t sound pretty, but I’m sure I’m not the only one that suffers from these conditions.

Day 1 of using Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel

The first time I used the Bio Oil Dry Skin Gel, I underestimated far just a little bit would go. A small dollop will go a long way because of its oil-based formula, so that 100ml or 200ml jar will actually last you months even if you use it daily.

At first touch, it felt light as air, and on contact it began to melt into my skin right away.

It has the same dry oil texture as the Bio-Oil Skincare Oil, and I found it absorbed quickly into my skin. My hands and feet felt instantly hydrated, with no greasy residue or wait time for the gel to soak in.

It felt ultra lightweight as promised and I was surprised how quickly and efficiently it hydrated my skin.

Even a few hours later, when I would usually need to re-apply my moisturizer, I found my skin still quite hydrated. I was immediately quite impressed with it.

Days 3-4

After about 3 to 4 days of use, I was beginning to notice an overall improvement to the quality of my skin. It seemed like my dry skin was beginning to return to normal.

The cuticles around my fingernails were still a tough, but definitely not peeling any more. The condition of my feet had improved as well, my skin was still dry, but definitely not as cracked.

I even started to notice even when I woke up in the mornings nearly 8 hours after my nightly application, my skin was still quite hydrated and soft.

Day 7 of using Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel

After about a week of use, I was turning into a firm believer of the product. My dry skin was starting to look pretty good, especially my feet, where I thought I’d had to deal with terminally dry skin for life.

My calluses had started to soften and the cracks had healed over. This was a huge improvement from before! My skin on both my hands and feet were much softer, firmer and hydrated and remained that way through most of the day.

Day 14

Bye-Bye dry skin! I can hardly believe it myself when I said my dry skin had been healed. From days 7 to 14, I saw gradual improvements in my skin every day as I used it.

My skin was become softer and stronger, and I found myself even needing to apply it less over time.

I also felt my skin remained moisturized throughout the day and not only felt more hydrated and looked significantly smoother as well.

My Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel Review

After using Bio Oil Dry Skin Gel for 14 days, I can say the before and after results were amazing!

I found it worked better at moisturizing than any other moisturizer that have used before and even helped with calming my eczema as well.

If you’re used to using regular water based moisturizers it does take a little getting used to the texture. Since it’s oil-based, start with a small amount and let it warm up in your hands. You’ll find that it will soften and melt and that’s when you can start massaging it into your skin.

And just a hint, a little bit goes a long way! You’ll probably need 1/3 or less of what you would regularly use with normal body moisturizers. So don’t go overboard when you’re just starting out. If you use too much you’ll find that it may leave your skin a little sticky, but if you use the right amount it should absorb into your skin after a couple minutes.

Another great feature is how budget friendly it is. I have the 100 ml jar, and it easily lasts me a month with daily use and only just about $10 a pop.

It’s truly an amazing skincare product for dry skin. And I can say that after using Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel, I found condition of my dry skin has improved greatly. If you suffer from chronic dry skin as well I would highly recommend it for you!
