How long is the Cold War free trial?

Activision has launched a Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War free access trial.

Players can download Black Ops Cold War from their chosen platform’s digital store and access the free trial until June 1.

It features various multiplayer maps and modes, including Rambo’s Gun Game and Die Hardpoint, which were recently added as part of Cold War’s ‘80s action heroes event.

Zombies experience Outbreak, which “takes place across massive play spaces throughout the Ural Mountains, packed with new enemies, team objectives, player rewards, and intel to discover on foot, in vehicles, or by jump pads”, is also available with the free trial.

Black Ops Cold War Season 3 added a new Outbreak region called Duga, a Cargo Truck and a high-speed Fast Attack Vehicle, and the Toxic Growth Field Upgrade, which deals damage to and slows entangled enemies.

A Black Ops Cold War double XP weekend is launching on Friday at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST and will also run until June 1.

Multiplayer + Outbreak Free Access

• Free Access available for download, featuring Multiplayer and Zombies modes through June 1st.

Progression

• Addressed an issue where some players’ Season Levels were capped at Level 182 in the After Action Report and in-game scoreboard.

    • Increased the opacity of pings for better visibility. Pings will also be less visible while aiming down sights.
    • Map loading stats that show your performance in Elimination on each map should now properly display the correct stats.
  • UI
    • Enemy pings will now follow the pinged player for 5 seconds. To ping an enemy player, with an enemy player in your field of view, double-tap the left d-Pad button on controller or press the Z key twice on your keyboard.
    • Addressed an issue where the player would sometimes receive a UI error when being downed or killed by the Ballistic Knife.

• The “Have a Blast” Medal can now be earned with explosive Scorestreaks.

• Increased the size of Weapon Mastery badges displayed during Best Play.
