Dramatically different moisturizing gel review blog năm 2024

I've been using the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel for about 2 years now but during that time have dabbled with other brands and moisturisers that have a thicker or thinner consistency than this one [including the clear gel moisturiser by Clinique]. I've found that this one is the most effective for my combination/oily skin by far [I generally lean towards having oily skin but do get dry patches in the winter time].

This moisturiser is hydrating without being too heavy, and is gentle enough to use around the eye area with ease. It seems to be un-fragranced which is good as the product remains on the skin rather than washing off immediately. It comes in a pump bottle which is helpful for the first three-quarters of the bottle but is a bit of an issue for the last quarter as it just won't suck up the product. I've got a small lidded jar [just a sistema jar that is meant to be for salad dressings in your lunchbox] and when I am getting low on moisturiser I remove the lid and sit it upside-down in my sistema jar to drain out the rest. That way I get to use all the product with much less waste than I would have otherwise.

Tips: Keep a small jar in your skincare collection to drain the last of the moisturiser into when the pump stops dispensing properly.

I always have the worry that moisturizer is too rich and moisturizing for my oily skin. And after giving birth, I feel my skin became both dry and oily at the same time! So I really needed to find a moisturizer that moisturizes but one that doesn’t cause me to look like a oil sleek. I read so much about the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion [DDML] but since I have oily skin, I better try the gel version instead.

Ingredients

Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel [DDMG] is a gel moisturizer and very easy to spread onto the skin. It absorbs very quickly into the skin as well. The smell of it is super pleasant. I feel so happy every morning and evening when I use it!

Because I have combination skin that is on the oilier side, applying moisturizer is like buttering the non-stick baking pan for the oven. I kinda look oily all the time. After giving birth, my skin is kinda dehydrated even though it still gets oily. Very irritating. So when I tried this DDMG, I was very pleasantly surprised. It really does hydrate my skin without making it oily! In fact, now my skin is seldom as oily as before.

I use this after cleansing my face and applying SKII Facial Treatment Essence. My skin would feel so smooth and nice on touch whenever I wash my face. Gives me the delusion that I have flawless and smooth skin. Ha!

Last Saturday, I went overseas for 3 days and did not bring along my DDMG as I didn’t want to bring such a big bottle of moisturizer. Well, for 3 days that I did not use the DDMG, I felt such a big difference especially whenever I wash my face in the morning! The texture of my skin felt rough on touch and washing my face during that 3 days made me regret more each day… I eagerly came home on Monday night to wash my face and apply the DDMG. Next morning, SMOOTHNESS again on washing my face. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

I’ve talked to you guys about my skin care routine before, and for my face lotion I’ve always use Cetaphil Face & Body Moisturizing Lotion. I decided to switch things up because I figured I shouldn’t be using a face moisturizer that could also be used on your body. After some deliberation, I decided to go for the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. This is how it went.

I was really excited to try this lotion because I’ve always been enamored of Clinique as a brand. I decided on the gel formula rather than the lotion because I have oily skin and Clinique and reviewers on the site said that the gel formula was better for that.

The first night I used the moisturizer, I was a little concerned. Usually after I apply my Cetaphil face lotion, it’s moisturizing enough that my hands feel moisturized as well. I didn’t get this feeling with the Clinique, but I just chalked it up to the fact that it was a different formula.

However, as the went on, I didn’t like how the gel felt, and I found myself with some new breakouts – but to be fair, I’m still not sure if this is due to the Clinique gel or not. The last straw for me came when I closely looked in the mirror at my skin and saw some dry patches on my nose. That pretty much NEVER happens to me, so I knew that the gel was moisturizing enough for my skin.

I don’t think the Clinique Dramatically Different Gel is a bad product, I just think that I didn’t get the right formula for my skin. Yes my skin is oily, but not all of it. Yes I often suffer from shininess, but my skin can also feel tight and dry when I don’t moisturize. I have combination skin, and I should have picked a product more in line with those needs.

I’m definitely still interested in the Clinique line, and I would love to try something else from them. What do you suggest?
