Convenient. Works so far. Doesn't dry my face out at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4 types chemical exfoliation: AHA, BHA, PHA, LHA

Cosrx 3 in 1 Poreless pads aim to clarify pores, minimize pores, and refine pores. This tub of scentless chemical exfoliation pads have all types of chemical exfoliation covered: AHA, BHA, PHA, LHA. I do not use chemical exfoliants daily, typically I aim for 1-3x per week for my dry skin. You know your skin best so so what works for you. The toner pads are typical in shape, size, and texture. Damp with product but not dripping wet. Jar does not contain excess toner like shown in picture. One side of the pad has texture and one side is nearly smooth. Use the textured size first, then swipe smooth side to help pat in product. More info on AHA/BHA/PHA/LHA follows below.

How to Use
1. After cleansing, use the embossed side of the pad to gently wipe across the face and neck while avoiding the eye area.
2. Using the opposite side of the pad, gently pat the extra essence into the face.
3. For daytime use. Follow with a sunscreen.

Ingredients:
Camellia Sinensis Seed Extract, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Arginine, Betaine Salicylate, Mandelic Acid, Gluconolactone, Panthenol, Polyglyceryl-10 Myristate, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Dimethyl Sulfone, Allantoin, Asiaticoside, Madecassic Acid, Asiatic Acid, Tannic Acid, Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Pentylene Glycol, Menthyl Lactate, Mentha Haplocalix Extract, Sodium Phosphate, Disodium Phosphate

For those unfamiliar with PHA & LHA, I had written a little bit about it on a similar product. Most of us are familiar with AHA & BHA, so.. Unlike AHA/alphahydroxy acids (such as glycolic, lactic, and citric acids)  and BHA/betahydroxy acid (such as salicylic acid), PHA/Polyhydroxy acid & LHA/Lipohydroxy acid are more gentle because they have a larger molecule size making them less likely to produce irritation, have humectant properties (so not drying), anti bacterial and anti inflammatory. They also have ability to "combat glycation, a process that weakens collagen and elastin in your skin". Also PHA & LHA are not as sun sensitive. While they can be used by anyone, PHA & LHA are especially great for those with dry skin or skin with other issues like Rosacea. I have both, but my rosacea is NON acne, and is primarily redness and visible veins. Even so, more gentle products are better for my skin. With all this in mind, AHA & BHA have their place too- they are stronger, and some conditions are better suited for stronger acids.
PHA-Repairs skin, exfoliates away dead skin, reduces the appearance of skin damage. LHA-decreases the concentration of bacteria found within the pore. It is antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and anticomedogenic properties, combating acne and even dandruff.  Increasing in popularity as LHA according to a European dermatology journal white paper is that LHA "stimulates the skin in a manner similar to retinoids, that is, by renewal of epidermal cells and the extracellular matrix"

AHA & BHA have been in use for a long time. They have smaller molecules and therefor are deeper penetrating and are more susceptible to irritating skin and being sun sensitive skin. So be sure to use sunscreen, and start off low and slow with any chemical exfoliation. Enjoy the benefit of 4 types of chemical exfoliation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fragrance-Free, Well-Formulated, Gentle Enough for Sensitive Skin

Cosrx was the first "Korean skincare" brand I tried. It is a good 'starter' skincare brand for anyone. Most of their products are well-suited to all skin types, especially acne-prone. They offer a wide variety of low pH cleansers, lightweight moisturizers, sunscreens you actually want to use, effective acne-treatments, and essences at affordable pricing.

For user reference, I have mature (over 40), sensitive, product-reactive, fair, combination, acne-prone, congestion-prone skin. The older I get, the less oily I am. And, of course, in winter, my skin is also less oily.

Anyway...the product you are here for.

The Cosrx Poreless Pads (70ct) are a 3-in-1 toning pad intended to "clarify, tone, and strengthen" the skin. They come in a large, sturdy, 4.7oz plastic jar for ~$23.

The clear watery essence the dual-textured pads are emersed in has BHA, PHA, LHA, and AHAs. The ingredients list is barebones and fabulous—no added colorants, essential oils, alcohol, or fragrances. The pads are lightweight, (again) dual-textured, and saturated in the treatment essence.

How to Use:
After cleansing, use the embossed side of the pad to gently wipe across the face and neck while avoiding the eye area. Using the opposite side of the pad, gently pat the extra essence into the face. For daytime use, follow the application with sunscreen. You can also stick to gently applying the pad against the skin to impart the liquid essence onto the skin without scrubbing if you are especially sensitive.

You should be using an SPF regardless. Everyone should be donning SPF rain or shine, year-round, regardless of age, gender, skin tone, or type. More so when you use any actives or exfoliants in your skincare as they further sensitize you to the effects of UV-exposure. My advice as a natural redhead? Find one you like, so it is easier and more of a pleasure to use regularly.

Also, do not use this alongside multiple other actives (additional AHA's, BHA's, vitamin C, adapalene, retinol, etc...) in the same am or pm routine. The combination of some can affect pH and result in one or both becoming inert or ineffective. Or it can result in over-exfoliation and irritation and damage the moisture barrier/acid mantle of the skin, which can lead to breakouts, rashes, etc.

Less is more, and consistency is more important than excess when it comes to using skincare actives. Meaning, you do not need to use BHA's, AHAs, high percentages of antioxidants (vitamin C), and the like every time you wash your face. Nor do you need to layer on a medicated wash, medicated toner, medicated topical treatment, and medicated essence in the same am or pm routine. Over exfoliating, chemically and physically, will do more damage than good. Break it up a little, especially if you have sensitive skin. Start by using these poreless pads in place of another BHA or AHA in your routine and only once a day. Then increase use if needed.

Do your research and see where the medicated pads will best fit into your routine. I like to use it after a no-frills, un-medicated wash, and gentle panthenol enriched non-alcohol toner. I gently sweep one of these pads across my most acne or congestion-prone areas, discard it and apply my moisturizer. If it is in the day time, I'll finish with a generous smear of SPF on all exposed areas.

Are these Cosrx Poreless Pads Worth it?
Pro:
They are well-formulated without fragrances, alcohol, essential oils, mineral oil, and dyes. The product comes from a well-known, trusted, and affordable Korean skincare brand. Tossing a few of these into a sealed plastic baggie for travel makes them easy and convenient. You get all of your medicated chemical exfoliants in one product, and it is gentle enough to be used by all skin types.

Con:
Not a fan of the lid. It is horizontally ribbed, making it extremely difficult to unscrew the first time or if your hands happen to be wet or have lotion on them. I think individual pads are a hint wasteful. I'd like to see this same formula repackaged in a pump for those who would rather not have the added use of a physically exfoliating dual-textured pad but still want the chemical exfoliating benefits of the medicated essence.

If I didn't already have some fantastic skincare cluttering up my bathroom counter, I would likely repurchase this 70ct jar of pads. I may still, just to have them on hand. I applaud Cosrx for making these pads fragrance-free, affordable, and useful for those who struggle with mild to moderate acne and congestion.

COSRX Poreless Pad, 70 pads | AHA, BHA, PHA, LHA Toner | 3 in 1 Pore Care Toner Pad - Clarifying, Tightening,

I have been using these pads at night after washing my face. I use the embossed side first to remove any dirt that didn't come off from washing and then the smooth side to push the ingredients into my skin. I wait until this has sunk into my skin and then apply a serum. I don't use these every night because I have dry, sensitive skin but usually every 3 days. These have really helped gently resurface my skin and I think they help to remove any dead skin cells and increase the turnover of the cells. My skin is a lot smoother and hydrated since using these.
