The mission of the VA Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships (CFBNP) is to engage, educate and inform faith-based and community organizations about VA tools and resources that will equip them to better serve the Veterans, their families, survivors, caregivers, and other beneficiaries within their organizations.

The HHS Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships (known hereafter as "The Partnership Center") is the Department’s liaison to the faith community and to grassroots organizations.

The Partnership Center exists to engage and communicate with faith communities and grassroots organizations, ensuring that local institutions, which hold community trust, have up-to-date information regarding health and human service activities and resources in their area.

Through the Center, we work to build partnerships with community and faith-based organizations, which help HHS serve individuals, families, and communities in need. The Partnership Center works in collaboration with any and all of the 27 offices and agencies that make up HHS to extend the reach and impact of HHS-related programs into communities, as well as to encourage faith-based and community organizations in their work.

The Center works to enable faith-based and community organizations to partner with the government to achieve the goals of HHS.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships (DHS Center) fosters partnerships between government and faith-based organizations (FBOs) to increase the nation’s resilience by creating trust and developing relationships. The DHS Center seeks to build bridges across the whole community and to help overcome coordination challenges among FBOs, emergency managers and other stakeholders engaging a broad cross-section of FBOs in all stages of the disaster cycle. The DHS Center serves as a clearinghouse for information, connecting and coordinating with FBOs allowing information to be shared in both directions, informing decision-making at DHS by elevating concerns, ground truth and local situational awareness while providing feedback, updates and guidance to the faith community.

Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships

The Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships (The Partnership Center) in the Office of the Secretary, serves to ensure that Faith-Based and Community Organizations (FBCOs), which form the bedrock of our society, have strong advocates within Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the White House and Partnership Offices throughout the Federal Government. The Executive Order to establish the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships was signed by President Biden on February 14, 2021. The White House Partnership Office promotes partnerships with religious and secular neighborhood organizations to work with leaders of all faiths and backgrounds who are on the front lines of their communities, to help uplift, heal, and rebuild neighborhoods in crises. The principal functions of the Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships are to:

  1. Assist in organizing more effective efforts to serve people in need across the country and around the world, in partnership with civil society, including faith-based and secular organizations. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2021/02/14/fact-sheet-president-biden-reestablishes-the-white-house-office-of-faith-based-and-neighborhood-partnerships/

The objective of United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships (HUD Partnership Center) is to serve as a liaison between HUD program offices, grassroots neighborhoods, and other community non-profit organizations, to provide the latest information about HUD regulations, requirements, and programs as well as state, local and other government programs available to communities. www.hud.gov/program_offices/field_policy_mgt

The HUD Partnership Center also serves as a resource center for Faith-Based and Community Organizations (FBCOs) seeking to partner with HUD to address the housing and community development needs of low and moderate-income communities. www.hud.gov/program_offices/comm_planning/cpdta

The HUD Partnership Center convenes outside partners, practitioners, and organizations from neighborhood non-profits and faith communities with policymakers, public-private partners, and government officials to identify and meet the needs of some of the nation’s most vulnerable citizens more effectively. This assistance is designed to support, build, and strengthen their capacity by serving as a clearinghouse for information and requests about potential competitive funding opportunities for FBCOs within HUD and other federal agencies. www.hud.gov/program_offices/comm_planning/cpdta
