Can I use COSRX AHA/BHA toner with niacinamide

When I first started using it I used the niacinamide in my morning routine and aha/bha at night then over some time I could use them together, as much as the Ordinary Niacinamide can be a little sensitising in my case

u can use at the same routine ^^ but, the acids which aha bha may get less theirs effectiveness or even risk to redness. the best way to use niacinamide and acid is : 1) apply them separately . which niacinamide goes to morning and acids go to the night time routine. 2) or if u want still use at the same routine, apply them at least 30 min apart. apply the acids first then wait for 30 min, then u can go for the niacinamide routine

Yup, I did this routine last year (but have to change it to incorporate other products). I think even The Ordinary, encourages thiis especially using BHA + Niacinamide for maximun results.

I'm actually using it both, ABA BHA as my cleanser and Niacinamide as my serum. It doesn't have negative effects on my skin. So yeah, I think you can incorporate these two in your routine

Niacinamide is fine to use at the same time with aha/bha. But even if it's theoretically fine, you need to check it on your skin. As long as it's not having any burn or itchiness, I think it's fine 😀

Usually niacinimide is compatible with other actives but you don’t have to use both if your skin can’t take it

Many people struggle with acne, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, dehydrated skin, enlarged pores, etc. It looks like these skin conditions have no practical solution, or it is tough to achieve a hydrated, fresh, radiant, and even skin appearance. The truth is that most people have never got an appointment with a good dermatologist or have never tried using Niacinamide, AHA, and BHA in their everyday skincare routine. These three are famous ingredients that help enhance skin texture, reduce pigmentation, improve dryness and dullness, smooth wrinkles, and fight against acne-inducing factors. Besides common properties, they also have their unique effects. Let's find out what each of them can do when used solo.

Niacinamide is a pro-vitamin B3, also called Nicotinamide, a precursor to NADH and NADPH's coenzymes. To put it simply, it boosts cellular metabolism while energizing cells to implement their functions, for instance, DNA repair and cell turnover. In addition, Niacinamide hydrates the skin, fights free radicals, fades pigmented spots, smooths fine lines, regulates oil production, unclogs pores, fights against acne, and improves skin texture.

Both AHA and BHA (alpha- and beta-hydroxy acids) are organic acids that act as chemical exfoliants while removing dead and dull cells from the top layer of the skin, providing an anti-aging effect and fading spots. Those cells already carry melanin pigment, so their removal makes skin brighter. AHAs are the right choice for a dry appearance, as most of them hydrate and soothe the dermal tissue. Unlike BHAs, AHAs act at the deeper layers, control sebum production, shrink the pores, and expose less sensitivity to the sunlight.

The trick is that all these ingredients' effects depend on their concentration and pH level. For example, Niacinamide has around 5-7, and the acids 3-4 pH, which means that mixing them can neutralize their effects on each other. In addition, Nicotinamide prevents melanin transfer from producing cells (melanocytes) to caring cells (keratinocytes), brightening skin, lessening dark spots, and pigmented areas. So here comes the question, why and how to use acids in a duo with Niacinamide?

Can I use AHA BHA toner with niacinamide?

Can you use AHA BHA and niacinamide? Yes, you can, but not all at the same time. This is because the pH levels in the skin will be altered making it more suspectable to irritation, redness, and will have a negative impact on how effective the other ingredients perform on the skin.

Can I use Cosrx BHA and niacinamide together?

Yes, you can use niacinamide, BHA and retinol together in the same routine. Use BHA first, then layer niacinamide and retinol products according to their texture, from thinnest to thickest.

Does Cosrx AHA BHA Toner have niacinamide?

Made with 16 essential ingredients including AHA, BHA, Vitamin C and Niacinamide, the Cosrx AHA BHA Vitamin C Toner is gentle to the skin and has been dermatologically tested for sensitive skin.

Should I use niacinamide or AHA BHA?

It's better to mix AHAs and BHAs with moisturizing ingredients and SPF. Niacinamide used with AHAs and BHAs together have no effect and can actually cause redness. Because niacinamide has a pH of around 5-7, it can actually raise the lower pH of the acids, which is around 3-4, and cancel out its properties.
