The Royal Government of Cambodia is ready to host the 2023 SEA Games For this historic event, the government has identified locations in five provinces to host various sports competitions.
HE Vath Chamroeun, Secretary-General at the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia and Secretary-General of the Cambodian SEA Games Organising Committee explained the venues to Construction & Property Magazine on 19 July 2022.
He said that all sports infrastructure and stadiums have been identified and divided into five areas. The first area in Phnom Penh is the Techo Heritage National Stadium, the National Olympic Stadium and the OCIC Chroy Changvar Exhibition Hall. The other four areas are in Siem Reap, Preah Sihon, Kampot and Kep.
“All the stadiums have been built, only renovations remain, and there no other sports [stadiums] will be built,” he said.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, has previously stated that the government has prepared a large budget of up to US$30 million for the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games, which Cambodia will host next year.
