Top 10 best starter generals in european war 6

Most of the these tips are advice for beginners and things that I wish I had known when I first started playing. However, many of these strategies are equally important in late game battles.

*Please note that these tips are a matter of opinion based off my own personal experience from playing the game*

Medals are an extremely valuable currency in the game, and they become harder and harder to get as you progress through the game. It is absolutely crucial that every time you spend medals you are making a valuable purchase that will benefit you in all stages of the game. When buying generals and store items, only spend medals on generals and items that you plan to always have in your loadout. Never buy a general or item that you plan on replacing later because you will never get back what you payed for it if you choose to sell it.

When purchasing generals and determining your battle lineup, it is important to choose a balanced set of generals with really good skills. I recommend planning for a lineup of 3 Infantry Generals, 2 Cavalry Generals, 2 Artillery Generals, and 1 Naval General. I also recommend checking my general lists to make sure that a general you want to buy has good skills and to be aware of their strengths and weaknesses. For more information on skills, check the google slides on my main "Generals" page, which ranks skills on a 1 to 5 point scale.

3. Purchase Healing Items

One of the most important strategies for winning battles is keeping your generals and their troops alive. Healing items are the perfect way to do this, and are worth every single medal they cost. There are 3 main healing items in the game: Battlefield Med-pack, Canvas Tent, and Ambulance. They heal 10 points per round, 20 points per round, and 30 points per round respectively. Adding these items to your generals gives them the strength they need survive from the moment they are assigned to your troops all the way to the end of the battle, which allows them to constantly give your troops the boost they need to beat tough opponents.

4. Only Attack When Necessary

When attacking with your troops, it is important to only mainly attack key targets circled in red. Attacking other enemy troops that aren't blocking your path or defending a key target only wastes your own troops' time and health, since most of the time those enemy troops will always shoot back at you and lower your own health. In some battles when you struggle to keep your troops alive or finish the battle in time, this skill can make all the difference between winning and losing.

For most campaigns, when you first win battles you will not get the full 3 stars. However, as you progress through the game and acquire better generals and further upgrade your troops, you will be able to get the full 3 stars on old battles in previous campaigns. Going back and replaying these old battles to get the full 3 stars can yield valuable medal rewards that you may have missed the first time around.

When it comes to upgrading troops, there are a couple of things to pay attention to. First, upgrading every troop's mobility is key. Second, it is important to focus on one type of troop and to upgrade that type of troop as much as possible. Trying to upgrade all troops evenly in this came only gets you stuck since you don't always have a lot of gold and opponents tend to always have superior troops. However, if you focus all your upgrading on one troop type [i.e. Militia] and try to use that troop type the most in battle, it will give you a better chance of winning battles.

Oftentimes you will find yourself stuck on a particular campaign battle that you just can't seem to win. It can be very frustrating and it can make the game feel impossible at times, but it is important not to give up. Try switching over to the Challenge menu and trying a Challenge battle, you will still get fairly decent rewards for completing those and many of them will be easier then the campaign mission you're stuck on. Completing a few Challenge battles will make you feel better and it will often give you enough currency to upgrade your troops and generals, which will put you in a better position when you try that tricky campaign battle again.
