Frightening & Intense Scenes

• The dinner/confrontation scene between Mia and Seb intensify (raising voices) out of frustration. Nothing physical occurs.
• The ending scene is very emotional. The song "Audition" can also be very emotional for some. The last song is very sad as it doesn't portray the traditional happy ever after.
• The epilogue is very emotionally distressing.

Why is La La Land so highly rated?

La La Land is a lovely, pleasing, and showstopping movie that should be watched on the biggest screen, loudest sound, and brightest colors as possible. A celebration of music and magic, where swelling emotions are captured by somber yet jazzy leitmotifs. Features a career best performance from Emma Stone.

Is La La Land a happy or sad movie?

However, it can also be argued that La La Land has a happy ending. They may not be together, but Seb and Mia are successful and more importantly, fulfilled. The movie may not go the way anyone expects, and yet looking back to that opening, both characters are in far better places when it ends compared to how it begins.

What is the message of La La Land?

The themes are simple and realistic. 'La La Land' is about sacrifice, love, and passion. However, it's not just about doing all three things for the person you love, so you can be with them. It's about doing these three things for yourself and you being the person you wanted to be before you fell in love.

Does La La Land have inappropriate content?

While this film is rated PG-13, Dove, unfortunately, cannot award this wonderful film our Seal of Approval due to brief strong language and moderate use of alcohol, mostly from secondary characters.
