The student becomes the teacher.

Kung Fu Panda 3 is the 2016 third installment to DreamWorks Animation's Kung Fu Panda franchise, and the sequel to Kung Fu Panda 2. It is the first film of the franchise, as well as any DreamWorks movie in general, to be co-produced by Oriental DreamWorks in China.

In the realm of the spirits, Oogway faces an opponent from the past, the evil spirit Kai [J. K. Simmons]. Kai has waited five hundred years, gathering enough chi from late kung fu masters in order to defeat Oogway and return to the world of the living, something he succeeds in. Meanwhile, in the Valley of Peace, Po learns that Shifu is retiring and passing his role as the Furious Five's teacher to him, a position Po struggles to handle. His mind is soon diverted, however, as he is faced with the arrival of his biological father, Li Shan [Bryan Cranston], who takes him to a hidden panda paradise in the mountains. Things quickly go downhill when Kai arrives and wreaks havoc at the Jade Palace, leaving Tigress the only one to escape and warn Po of the approaching threat. Now, Po must gather his teaching skills in order to train the pandas into capable fighters that will help him defeat Kai, while also learning how to master the power of chi.

The movie's home video release came with a short film titled Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Panda Paws.

Although some saw the movie as the Grand Finale of the film series, DreamWorks announced in 2022 that Kung Fu Panda 4 is set for release on March 8, 2024.

There will be more Kung Fu Panda. Universal has set a March 8, 2024 theatrical release for the fourth installment to the Jack Black voiced franchise which has grossed $1.8 billion through three movies.

The first movie, which was released in 2008, received an Oscar nomination in the animated feature category. No directors are set as of yet for Kung Fu Panda 4, but Uni is planting their stake in the ground date-wise.

Part 4 will follow the further adventures of wide-eyed Po in ancient China, whose love of kung fu is matched only by an insatiable appetite.

Similar to other Dreamworks Animation titles such as Trolls and Shrek, the Kung Fu Panda universe extends throughout consumer products, video games, an Emmy nominated television series [Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness on Nickelodeon] and global theme-park attractions. There’s also another spinoff TV series, Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight featuring Black reprising the voice of Po, James Hong reprising Mr. Ping and Rita Ora.

DreamWorks Animation this year released The Bad Guys which made close to $246M at the global box office. The Uni-owned animation division also had one of the few pandemic standouts at the Thanksgiving 2020 box office when many theaters were closed, The Croods: A New Age, which grossed close to $216M worldwide.

Is this real?

No, it’s Kung Fu Panda 3 marketing footage used for adverts in Asia - you can look up a few of them on YouTube. There aren’t very many, unfortunately, but enough just to show that DreamWorks has made footage solely for marketing to different international regions. Like those Super Bowl commercials for Wix.com, or the one that advertised Sky broadband internet in Europe? All of the unique footage in those were regionally specific and made just for marketing.

They’ve also done the same with past KFP films too [some of which are also searchable on YouTube], though it looks like they were more extensive with KFP3 - maybe because of the extra help from the Oriental DreamWorks studio or a larger marketing budget, who knows.

Anyway, the person who uploaded this video and titled it probably did so to mislead and get attention, or perhaps they were simply mistaken. Either way, it’s definitely not from Kung Fu Panda 4.
