I can’t believe it’s been 8 months since my girls trip to Thailand and we’re preparing to head to Morocco in a few weeks. Besides surviving a super long flight, one of the most memorable moments was zip lining for the first time.

We wanted to end the trip with a bang so we researched companies that had ziplining around the areas we stayed in. We settled on the Flight of the Gibbon Bangkok / Pattaya Zipline because it was the closest one to the city. Read more about my zipline experience with Flight of the Gibbon Bangkok/Pattaya.

The Flight of the Gibbon was founded in 2007 and is Thailand’s first and now the largest and most trusted Zipline experience in Asia. In addition to having multiple locations close to Bangkok/Pattaya and Chiang Mai, the company is an advocate of responsible ecotourism.

Flight of the Gibbon Price

The price for Flight of the Gibbon depends on the type of package you purchase. The Bangkok / Pattaya tour includes add-ons such as bicycling and race car driving. We chose the Bangkok/Pattaya Zipline Experience which was ฿4199. With exchange rates from USD to Baht at 1:30 so we paid around $133.

The total time was 7 hours from pick-up to drop-off. The zip line tour included transport to/from Bangkok, entrance fee, lunch buffet, drinks [coffee, tea, water], and a Tram tour of Khao Kheow Safari Park. Here’s more information about what is included in the Bangkok/Pattaya Zipline Experience at the time of our trip:

  • maximum of 9 people on the tour [there were 6 on our trip]
  • 2 fully trained Sky Rangers assigned to each group
  • 2 hours of Ziplining through the ancient Thai rainforest
  • Learn about the rainforest from local experts

Booking our Flight of the Gibbon Bangkok/Pattaya Tour Online

We booked our zip line tour in the planning phases of the trip online. Their website has an easy online form asking for the date, pickup location, number of guests, and pickup time. There are three pickup stops from Bangkok so we chose the location closest to AETAS Lumpini. Since we had to be back at the hotel by 2 PM for our airport pickup, we chose the 6 AM zipline tour.

After filling out your billing information, you’re directed to pay with your credit card or PayPal. The order will be in Thai Baht so make sure to calculate the conversion rates based on your own currency.

Flight of the Gibbon Bangkok Review

The drive from Bangkok was about an hour and a half. Since we were out late celebrating my friend’s birthday, it was a great way to catch a good nap before arriving. The zipline location is located in Khao Kheow Open Zoo so we were “greeted” by monkeys upon arrival.

After filling out safety forms, we received a brief overview of how our morning would start. The zip line course is a total of 25 points that include a combination of forest walks, individual and paired ziplines, abseils, sky bridges, and spiral staircases.

Walking across the sky bridge at Flight of the Gibbon

I love flying, and being on top of mountains and tall buildings, but I’m absolutely afraid of heights [you can tell by my first pic]. The “baby” zips were super easy, but they were a joke compared to going over the bridges and staircases. The higher we went, the more exciting it was.

The duration of the zipline course was about two hours. Once we were done, we had a traditional Thai lunch followed by a tram tour of Khao Kheow Open Safari Park. We took pictures of the different animals which included lions, hippos, rhinos, elephants, giraffes, and more. I even got to take a picture in front of the continent destination for our next girls’ trip which is in Africa.

At Khao Kheow Open Safari Park

The whole ziplining experience was something I was happy to get off my bucket list. It was a fun-filled fear-facing adventure [say that 3xs fast] and better with friends. I hope to do it again the next time I’m in Puerto Rico.
