About USB Drivers:

Windows operating systems automatically apply a generic driver that allows users to transfer files using the USB [Universal Serial Bus] port; however, installing the appropriate software can bring about significant changes.

If the proper USB software is installed, systems will benefit from improved compatibility with different devices, numerous fixes regarding USB issues, and various other changes that can increase transfer speed with external storage drives.

When it comes to the installation steps, simply check to make sure that the download record is compatible with your system characteristics, get the package, run the setup, and follow the on-screen instructions for a complete update.

Bear in mind that even though other OSes might be compatible, it would be best if you applied this package only on specified platforms. In addition to that, as technology evolves from one day to another, we recommended that you always use the latest software available.

That being said, click the download button, get and apply the present version and enjoy your newly updated system. Also, constantly check back with our website to find out when a new version is available.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.

Hello all,

I bought my V3-772G about 1 month ago.

Yesterday everything was working fine and today i noticed than none of the 4 USB ports were working [laptop was suspended since yesterday]

No USB connected sound, nothing. Mouse/pendrive/HDDs/... does not work.

I noticed that on the device manager I had problems with the "USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver" as the driver was not loaded. I saw online people saying to unistall and reboot. Did that and again no USB working, on device manager, the device with problems was now "USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller".

I tried the following with NO success:

-Downloaded "USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver" from Intel website [available only for W7] - Didnt work

-Full windows restart - The same

-Unplugged battery and power for some mins, rebooted - Same

-Deleted all USB devices [hubs and so on], rebooted - Same

-Unistalled all updates from 2 days before [till the point I know it was working] - Driver dates changed to month before - Same result

-Tried to search on BIOS to disable USB3.0 and put 2.0 - Did not find

-Tried to go back to other restore point - Didnt work, complained that disk may be corrupted

-Executed Widnows chkdsk /r several times - No errors found - Nothing solved

-Executed chkdsk /r - Stuck at 16% but i guess its needs all night [TODO] - Solved nothing

-Tried to make a repair without loosing files [using recovery partitions] - Still guessing how

Any idea or any help? They just stopped working. I bough laptop already with windows 8.1 and they worked for 1 month

Thanks

---UPDATE1---

I used command prompt [via windows recovery on boot] and copied all files from backup drive [i guess] X:\Windows\System32\Drivers\usb* to local drive C:\Windows\System32\Drivers

Rebooted - Still nothing
