3W clinic sunscreen Review Reddit

Farmstay (70ml, has variants), 3W Clinic (70ml), Foodaholic (70ml) and Elujai (50ml) goes for about 200₱+/- on Shopee. They're SPF 50+ PA+++. Beautymnl currently has Fooodaholic for 210₱ and 3W clinic for 279₱.

I've only used Elujai and I like it. It's lightweight and leaves little to no whitecast (I'm pale so ymmv). It also has some ingredients like snail filtrate, so it's like a moisturizer too.

Over a year ago I made a SPREADSHEET of sunscreen recs for those with medium and darker skintones. See original post. I'm asking again for more sunscreens to add to the current spreadsheet.

As with any discussion about sunscreens, avoiding whitecast is really important. I noticed a lack of skintone description when discussing whitecast which I thought was critical piece of missing information as what may be great for NC 30 may not translate well for NW 50.

If you'd like to add-on another sunscreen, please comment below:

TEMPLATE:

SKINTONE SHADE: (If you don't know your MAC shade but wear base makeup list the brand and shade. If you don't wear makeup, a description is fine.)

SKIN TYPE:

SUNSCREEN PRODUCT: (Name, spf #, PA #, chemical/physical/hybrid)

REVIEW: Did it leave a whitecast? If so was it minimal or did you feel like you were wearing a Halloween mask a la Jason? Did you cover it with makeup? Anything else you'd like to mention?

I'll be updating and posting a new spreadsheet later.

posted this in a separate thread, copy paste ko na lang dito and added few points:

3w clinic intensive uv sunblock cream spf 50 PA +++

so far, di naman ako nagbreakout. it's very moisturizing, walang whitecast, pwede under makeup, powdery yung amoy, and affordable. i bought mine from shopee (P195 for 70ml). chineck ko sa beautymnl, P280 dun. it's a cream type pero once na inispread and nablend sa skin e parang medyo nagiging watery na madali maabsorb.

downside is, pag inisa-isa mo yung ingredients. it has ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate / octinoxate which is not safe for corals (someone correct me if i'm wrong) tho i bought it lang naman for everyday use. it has fragrance, paraben, comedogenic, and fungal acne trigger ingredients din. my skin didn't react badly to it so i'll continue using it but if you're skin does not tolerate those ingredients then wag mo na lang siguro itry.

(On my blog) I review a lesser-known but surprisingly AWESOME sunscreen, the 3WClinic UV Snail Day Sun Cream! Creamy, moisturizing, and free of drying-alcohol, it also has some great ingredients you'd expect in a much more expensive sunscreen (arbutin! collagen! adenosine! snail mucin!).

I bought this on a whim because it was $4 on RRS. Little did I know it would become one of my all time favorite sunscreens!

I don't recommend the A'pieu Waterproof Sun Cream unless you don't mind stickiness after application too much. The waterproof one also leaves a slighttt white cast, unlike the sun gel and the natural sun block (original). If anything, I recommend the Natural Sun Block from the same line!

level 2

Ooh thanks for letting me know! I see that RRS has both in stock so I might end up getting both just for funsies. It'll be interesting to compare them since they're both called waterproof sun creams.

I actually like the secret key because I have oily skin. It wasn't as good as my biore but it's not a full did for me.

level 2

I was looking at that sunscreen earlier but couldn't find many reviews on it. I may get it the next time I need sunscreen since I'm also oily.

That's awesome! Thanks for doing this!

As someone who was undecided about whether to try the 3W Clinic sunscreen, I just wanted to say thanks for trying it (and the others!) out and sharing your experience :) I was going to try the popular Biore sunscreen but RoseRoseShop doesn't stock it (and I have a huge wishlist of other stuff that I want to try from there!). Yay for not having to place multiple online orders heheh.

I really like the 3W Clinic. It was popular in Korea and can also be used as a makeup base.

The creamy texture is what I like about it.

Sad that I just finished my bottle! I literally scraped the inside as well as I could. Need to stock back up. (:

I bought the Secret Key a couple weeks ago and then got one in this month's Mishibox. I loved the way it felt going on, but it DESTROYED my moisture barrier. I assume it just has a really high alcohol content. A couple days of use and my skin was flaky, red, bumpy, and irritated. It took about a week to get my skin back to normal. A definite no-go.

Thanks! I have two of those in my basket precisely for the same reason as you - they're cheap on RRS! I'm gonna order this weekend so your review is super helpful.

I love A'pieu sunscreens, both the gel and cream formula. I find them pretty moisturising on my oily skin though so I use them in winter.

Thanks for sharing! I bought the 3w clinic one a few weeks ago but I wasn't planning on using it on my face (because i bought Biore Perfect Face milk at the same time) Buuut the Biore one is becoming a nightmare for me currently and I'm glad I have the 3w clinic as backup.

There was a thread a few days ago about the Secret Key one not providing enough UV protection! Someone got a sunburn while using it.

level 2

Well I'm a believer; I was in Philly seeng the sights on a deceptively sunny day recently and I put he secret key everywhere...except the tops of my feet. My face, neck, arms and hands were fine. I know it worked because my poor feet were cooked.

Should we be concerned about 4-Methylbenzylidene camphor as an ingredient (used in the 3W)? I'm seeing some shade thrown in its direction but I'm not sure how reliable the information is. It's one of those ingredients not approved by the FDA for sunscreen use, but that's also the case for a lot of our beloved Japanese sunscreens as well. Anyone have any info on this ingredient?

Is the A’Pieu Pure Block Aqua Sun Gel waterproof?

Nope but they do have a waterproof sun cream from the same line.
