Yamaha R7 2023 release date

Yamaha has added one new color option each for the 2023 Yamaha YZF R-3 and YZF-R7. Team Blue has always seemed to put practicality first with these models, with particular premiums put on rideability and reliability. Now, however, the addition of Phantom Purple for the R3 and Intensity White for the R7 will ensure riders have style on top of everything else.

Starting with the R3, the Team Yamaha Blue and Midnight Black color options remain for the 2023 model year, but Phantom Purple spices things up with livery straight out of the 90s. The shade of purple evokes a mystique and nostalgia that’s been sorely missed on modern sportbikes. Thoughtfully placed pink accents finish the job in what sure seems like one of this year’s more exciting colorways on any model.

That’s all that’s new for the R3, though, as its mechanical underpinnings remain unchanged for this year. It packs a liquid-cooled, DOHC, eight-valve, 321cc parallel twin engine that delivers a healthy 43 hp at 10,750 RPM with maximum torque rated at 29.6 Nm at 9,000 RPM. It rides on an inverted telescopic fork at the front with a preload-adjustable monocross single shock at the rear. The tires are both Dunlop Sportmax, with a 110/70-17 GPR-300F at the front and a 140/70-17 GPR 300-R at the back end. The 2023 Yamaha YZF R-3 retails for $5,499 USD or just over P300,000.

Meanwhile, Intensity White joins Team Yamaha Blue and Performance Black as a color option for the 2023 YZF-R7. True to its name, the new color scheme features a shade of white so bright it’s almost blinding—in the best way of course. It’s complemented by red rims that when all put together, look reminiscent of the usual designs of a very popular Italian motorcycle brand. We’re sure that’s only a coincidence.

Like the R3, the R7 features the same specs fans have come to know. It gets a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-valve parallel twin engine that’s good for 72.4 hp at 8,750 RPM and 67 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 RPM. At the front, it features a preload, rebound, and compression-adjustable telescopic fork, while the rear gets a linked-type monocross shock adjustable for preload and rebound. It comes equipped with Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport tires measuring 120/70ZR17 at the front and 180/55ZR17 at the rear. The R7 sells for $9,100 USD or slightly above P500,000.

The 2023 Yamaha YZF-R3 and YZF-R7 with the new Phantom Purple and Intensity White colorways are currently available in the United States and other markets, but there’s no word yet on a Philippine release.
