Lỗi unable to create shortcut url trên goo.gl năm 2024

It can be useful to setup certain websites like "apps" in Win/Mac/Linux, e.g. Gmail, ChatGPT, SO, Github, etc. Some website have the web app manifest JSON set up to allow you to install this from the address bar, for others you have to do this manually.

These shortcuts also allow you to open the website-"app" as a separate window [not tab].

My recent update to Ubuntu 23.10 erased by Chromium, leaving only Chrome, but also erased all my Website shortcuts.

I used to be able to create shorcuts using:

hamburger/ epipsis / three-dot menu > More tools > Create shortcut

But this is no longer the case, my Chrome version is 119.

How do I create a website shortcut [allowing me to open the website as a separate window] in Chrome 119+?

The home screen on your smartphone or tablet isn't just a place where your apps live. You can also add shortcuts to websites. Here's how to create an "app" for any website on your device, allowing you to access shortcuts directly from your home screen.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Safari. Other browsers, such as Chrome, won't work for this.
  2. Navigate to the website you want to save to your home screen by entering the URL of the website you want to create a shortcut to. Make sure you visit the exact page you want to open through the shortcut. Tap "Go."
  3. Tap the Share button on the bottom of the page. It looks like a square with an arrow pointing out of the top.
  4. In the list of options that appear, scroll down until you see Add to Home Screen. Tap this. The Add to Home Screen dialog box will appear.
  5. Choose a name for the website shortcut on your home screen. You'll see the link so you can confirm it, as well as the site's favicon that will appear as the "app" icon on your home screen. Click Add when you're done. Safari will close automatically and you will be taken to where the icon is located on your iPhone's or iPad's home screen.
  6. Now just tap the new "app" or shortcut on your home screen, and it will open the website in its own navigation window, independent of what you have open in Safari.

Note: If you ever decide you want to remove the website shortcut, you can delete it just like you would any other app on your phone.

I used to be able to create app shortcuts [i.e. make a web page look like a desktop app] by going to the Chrome menu > "More tools" > "Create shortcut" > "✔️ Open as window". After that, a webpage would appear as a shortcut or alias that I could pin to my OS's dock, and it would also shoud up in chrome://apps .

I got upgraded to v118 today and the feature seems to be gone. Has it moved? If so, where did it go? If not, did it get removed from Chrome?

Here's a screenshot of where this used to appear, but is no longer there. This was taken on v118.0.5993.89 on Windows.

Chosen solution

Try dragging the web site id image [favicon] at the left side of the Location Bar, instead of the URL.

This is the second time I've upgraded from FF 5 to FF 6.02 and both times I lost the ability to make desktop shortcuts by dragging the favicon to the desktop. I need the feature.

Also, I'm sick of getting bugged to upgrade from FF 5 to 6. I'm not upgrading my other computers until this problem is fixed.

I'm on a recent Dell PC with 4GB RAM, 1TB HD with lots of space, fully upgraded Vista Business, no extensions, only common business programs.

Right Click on Game > Manage > Browse Local Files > Goto the exe and right click it and make a shortcut > Drag to Desktop or whereever you want to put it. Double click the shortcut and you should be good.
