I came from using Teamviewer, i will never go back. Splashtop is honestly perfect to use.

Pros

I loved the easiness of just having a username and password to access my computer, i used to use TEAMVIEWER, and of course we needed the IP address, so some unique number, if not forget it you are out of luck ... this is so much easier and user friendly. Plus, totally inexpensive.

Cons

It was a bit difficult to maneuver at first, trying to get the screen to fit was the worse, i eventually got it and it works fine,

With Splashtop Remote Support we can effectively manage both our own PCs and servers, as well as that of our clients remotely. The switch from LogMeIn went smoothly, and we've found that the remote support sessions connect far quicker and are more reliable than LogMeIn. Overall we are very satisfied with Splashtop and glad that we've made the switch.

Pros

Easy setup Quick and stable remote connections Security features Easy to learn and administer Low bandwidth requirements Anti-malware integration

Cons

Rollout via Active Directory is a bit tricky, but doable Only the main admin user is able to create delegated admin accounts

Ease of use Lots of useful features Pricing

We've used LogMeIn Free, then LogMeIn Central for many years. However, LogMeIn wrote to us a couple of years ago intending to more than double the price we were paying. So we looked at alternatives, and Splashtop came out on top for functionality and price. After a two week free trial we were satisfied that Splashtop was the way to go.

Splashtop is a value-driven application, which although doesn't have all the bells and whistles of its more expensive competitors, does provide, basic solid, fast remote connections to a group of devices on a regular basis, but also has the capability of doing one-off sessions.

Pros

Ease of Installation, Ease of Use, Value

Cons

No Toolbox feature like ScreenConnect has Lacks

Price

More features for less money.

Splashtop has a good price point and is decent entry-level remote control software, although there are alternatives that perform better. It's hard to beat the price, though. Test a few before you decide.

Pros

Super simple to deploy, with support for Macs and PCs. It integrates very well with programs like Autotask, making it very easy to connect to a managed computer that you are also monitoring with Autotask Endpoint Management. Lightweight, small program that is very quick to install.

Cons

In our testing it ran slower than LogMeIn and Teamviewer. There weren't as many options to decrease the resolution to increase network speed, although they may have added that feature as we used this about a year ago. We had trouble connecting to PCs that were in portrait mode, and wouldn't switch to Landscape mode without crashing on some systems.

Pros

The software is relatively simple to use and the fact it allows me to help on iOS as well as computer is a bonus, never have had any issues with it.

Cons

A limitation that Apple has set up to make it difficult for screensharing programs to be "plug and play" impacts non techy users from setting up these types of software with ease. Splashtop has a great visual to help users but still could use improvement as the steps aren't as clear for non techy users.

Reviewers rate Remote management of servers & workstations highest, with a score of 10.

The most common users of Splashtop Enterprise are from Small Businesses [1-50 employees] and the Information Technology & Services industry.

  • Block keyboard and screen feature

  • File transfer some times doesn't work till connection is restarted

  • Some teamates have experienced White screen feature doesn't always work

  • The toolbar can be intrusive

  • Working from home and remoting into office computers.

  • Remotely supporting staff and students

  • Remotely managing servers

  • Better support for screen resolutions

  • Auto detect when a proxy is being used

  • We can blank the screen if we are dealing with confidential info on the screen, or not blank it when we are just supporting a user on that screen.

  • We can pull up multiple screens at the same time, which is great for doing things like running Windows Updates across all systems.

  • It just works...never had an issue, and we use it daily!

  • Easy to transfer files between machines.

  • Would like it to be easier to create a custom logo screen without having to go into the registry. It works but could have been easier to set up.

  • Easy access to other employees PCs when help is needed

  • Sometimes the updates are slow and cause issues with our systems crashing

  • Occasional issues getting two monitors to work successfully

  • Some difficulty in adding a new device if the employee is trying to set up from the office and their laptop is at home

  • Remoting into Desktops in 2 to 3 clicks

  • Being lightweight in terms of software

  • Providing some generic logs that can be checked against detailed logs

  • Local network access is as fast as it can be

  • It's so much cheaper than the competitors while providing the same service

  • Web log in, streaming instead of only using an app. i have multiple IT machines that i go back and forth from. i don't have it installed everywhere

  • Adding in some automation services

  • I would pay an additional $50 per year for more detailed logs.

  • Fast, reliable connections

  • Product offerings [names] can be confusing at times

  • Secure access to workstation away from the office.

  • Can handle difficulties as they arise without having to travel to the office.

  • Can communicate with coworkers as well.

  • Sometimes verifying a device can be difficult without access to the office email.

  • Very little or no lag between remote and local screens

  • Handles multiple monitors great!

  • Handles scaling of monitor resolutions great.

  • There have been a few times there has been lag, but restarting the hosting session corrected the issue.

  • Also a few times control keys like Ctrl or Alt will get stuck 'pressed' on destination session and a session restart is needed to reset.

  • Easy to transfer files between computer

  • Concurrent connection with the basic license

  • Improve the chat, maybe show a new window instead of the upper box

  • A module that can extract an inventory of the device

  • Logging into a computer while it's sleeping

  • Helping out a colleage with tech issues

  • Using multiple computers to tackle a single task

  • Marketing [TeamViewer would not even exist if you did that well]

  • Splashtop has a very streamlined user interface. There are enough options to make it pretty robust, but they are intuitive, so all of our users can get familiar with the screen controls, pretty quickly.

  • One of the things I appreciate about SOS support is the ease with which the user [ the person I'm remotely supporting] can install the client on their computer. The editable message that can be emailed is very useful, and I like that I can determine whether I'd like to remote in with admin privileges or not.

  • from an administrative standpoint, I like the remote management of users and verified computers, for Splashtop use. It is valuable to be able to see a broad view of all the users that have credentials and to what machines they have access to.

  • An area for improvement would be remote sound integration. The option to hear sound from the remote device is there but is extremely unreliable

  • At times, it can be difficult for users to navigate remoting from a 2 monitor setup, to a 2 monitor setup. That functionality could be more intuitive

  • Mobile phone connection [iphone]

  • I found that trying to right-click and copy text and paste into another screen or program was difficult but I did figure it out after searching on Youtube. Maybe implement some training videos for mobile phone use.

  • Updates - always have the current version available

  • Product usage - simple and easy to use

  • Uptime - never have to worry if the product will be available or not

  • I have no suggestions for improvement at this time.

  • organic process for adding a user

  • Unique Username and Password

  • Mobile App for phone or tablet

  • No need to have the program running in the background all the time

  • Computer collections are easy to see

  • Supports multiple monitors

  • Windows and Mac compatible

  • Adding a system to your collection

  • Quick support when needed.

  • Usually issues have been on our end, such as an electrical surge turning off work computers.

  • Everything I needed it for was fairly easy to use. I specifically liked how I could just drag and drop.

  • Secure access to my work desktop and all its applications.

  • Obviates the need to use RDP which is insecure IMO.

  • Sound relaying of remote computer's sound output.

  • We can scan the files we've worked on and send to the office into a folder for the doctor's use

  • We can log into the billing software and do billing to the insurance companies from our home.

  • We can print billing at the office so that the doctor can send it out for us without us having to come into the office, saving us time and money!

  • Signing in could be easier, if it remembered it always for us to get through, without us having to input the password each time, with security of course.

  • Reliable remote access with interruption.

  • View multiple monitors on one screen.

  • The wake feature [to bring the system from sleep] is hit or miss.
