Khi học Đại học, có rất nhiều yêu cầu sinh viên thực hiện các bài luận tiếng Anh làm bài tập để tính điểm. Lý do chúng ta sợ viết luận tiếng Anh là vì mọi người không biết nên bắt đầu từ đâu để viết, lên ý tưởng và phát triển ý tưởng theo đề bài như thế nào. Việc viết luận sẽ trở nên dễ dàng hơn nếu bạn có một quy trình gồm các bước cụ thể theo từng phần của một bài luận. Như thế, bạn sẽ biết được mình nên bắt đầu như thế nào và phải làm gì sau đó. Bước đầu tiên: suy nghĩ từ khóa và chuẩn bị dàn ý
Một bạn học sinh đang ngồi trước màn hình máy tính, nhìn mãi con trỏ chuột nhấp nháy trên trang Word trắng tinh mà vẫn không thể viết được chữ nào. Bạn có thấy bản thân mình trong đó không? Các câu chữ, ý tưởng trong đầu bạn rất nhiều nhưng bạn lại chẳng thể viết ra được dòng nào. Để vượt qua được bước đầu tiên này, bạn cần viết tất cả những suy nghĩ, từ khóa có liên quan đến chủ đề được giao xuống một tờ giấy. Việc viết ra sẽ giúp bạn nhìn nhận được các ý tưởng của mình một cách rõ ràng hơn. Sau đó, bạn chỉ cần kết nối chúng lại, loại bỏ những ý bị trùng lặp, từ đó xây dựng dàn ý cho bài luận của mình.

Bước thứ hai : viết câu luận đề cho bài luận
Luận đề là câu tóm tắt bao quát toàn bộ nội dung bài luận tiếng Anh của bạn và giúp cho việc triển khai viết bài được thống nhất, mạch lạc. Câu luận đề phải là một câu khẳng định hoàn chỉnh, không được sử dụng câu hỏi hoặc cụm từ. Trong ví dụ ở trên, câu chủ đề chính là “ In my family, I consider my brother to be my best friend ever…”
Bước thứ ba khi viết bài luận tiếng anh: viết phần mở đầu
Trong phần mở đầu, bạn nên trình bày tổng quan về chủ đề của bạn cùng với câu luận đề. Phần mở đầu này sẽ cung cấp thông tin cho người đọc về bối cảnh, nội dung chủ đề mà người viết sắp trình bày. Người đọc sẽ bị lôi cuốn ngay từ phần giới thiệu này nên hãy viết sao cho thật hấp dẫn, thu hút sự chú ý của họ. Có nhiều cách khác nhau để mở đầu bài luận tiếng Anh như: kể một câu chuyện, sử dụng trích dẫn [quote], đặt câu hỏi,..
Lưu ý: tránh sử dụng những câu như “This essay is about” hoặc “The topic of this essay is”
Bước thứ tư khi viết bài luận tiếng anh: xây dựng thân bài
Thân bài sẽ được chia ra làm nhiều đoạn tương đương với cá ý chính mà bạn muốn thể hiện. Mỗi ý chính cần có các ý phụ để làm rõ nội dung. Nên có các từ liên kết giữa các câu như firstly, secondly, moreover,…để giúp bài luận của bạn được mạch lạc liên kết. Các đoạn văn cần có 1 câu chủ đề để củng cố cho luận đề. Một số giáo viên khuyên rằng câu chủ đề nên đặt ở đầu đoạn văn, giúp cho giám khảo chỉ cần nhìn lướt qua cũng có thể nắm được ý chính của toàn bộ bài luận.
Bước thứ năm khi viết bài luận tiếng anh: viết phần kết bài
Để kết thúc bài luận tiếng Anh của mình, bạn hãy viết một đoạn ngắn khái quát lại ý chính trong bài mà bạn muốn người đọc ghi nhớ. Ngoài ra bạn có thể thảo luận các câu trả lời vẫn chưa được giải đáp và đưa ra ý tưởng nghiên cứu thêm [với bài luận nghiên cứu chuyên môn]. Phần kết luận nên ngắn gọn, tối ưu nhất bạn nên viết khoảng 4-5 câu kết cho bài luận 1.000 từ.
Bước cuối cùng khi viết bài luận tiếng anh: đọc lại bài để chỉnh sửa lỗi ngữ pháp và chính tả
Bạn nên chú ý chỉnh sửa những vấn đề này khi đọc lại bài luận của mình:
- Kiểm tra ngữ pháp tiếng Anh
- Cách sử dụng từ ngữ
- Sự liên kết giữa các câu
- Thông tin không cần thiết
- Phần mở đầu và kết luận vì mọi người thường có xu hướng chú trọng phần thân bài

Environment is a necessary thing for this life. Environment is the air we breath, the water people drink and is everything they need for their life. But now the most important thing for life is being polluted. This pollution affects the health of all living things. Air is damaged by lorry fumes and cars, and power stations create acid rain which can destroy entire lakes and forests. When fossil fuels: gas, oil and coal are burned to provide energy for cooking, lighting etc. they form polluting gases. Not only on land but also in the sea, oils spills pollute seawater and kill marine life; chemical waste from sewage works and factories, and artificial fertilisers from farmland, pollute river water, spreading disease, and killing wildlife. Everything is being caused by human’s existence. Humans create rubbish! Each household produces about one tonne of rubbish each year! Most of this is taken away by dustmen and burned in incinerators or buried in enormous landfill sites – both of these actions can be dangerous for our environment.
But only people can change and solve it. Pollution could be prevented by all thing we do each day. First people can use recycled paper to save trees. Second try to avoid using plastic. It is hard to recycle. People should refuse to use carrier bags. If people can not avoid buying plastic bags, they should use reused plastic bags many times. Finally people must take their old clothes to charity shops. People also should save energy to protect the environment. Switching off all electric things when they are not in use, walk or use a bicycle instead of car for short trips, keep healthy life and keep a clean atmosphere.
Keeping a clean environment isn’t only all ways mentioned before but also to protect natural resources. That is the way to conserve wildlife. First we need to conserve the old forest, rainforest, build more safari and national park, and plant more trees to make place to live for wild animals. Second we need to prohibit hunters who hunt animals too many out of the law allowance.
Finally, we now know that the environment is the most important thing for life and we know how to protect and use it scientifically. Everyday we invent and find more and more ways to protect the environment. I hope that in the future the earth will be cleaner.

We all know that natural disasters happen all over the world, and they can be utterly devastating for people’s lives and the environments we live in. There are many different natural causes leading to natural disasters, and being aware of these causes enables us to be better prepared when they do arrive. One of the most common natural disasters is flooding, which occurs when a river bursts its banks and the water spills out onto the floodplain. During wet periods, flood warnings are often put in place because of a great deal of heavy rain. There are other risk factors for flooding that we have to mention such as steep-sided channels cause fast surface run-off, the lack of vegetation and woodland break the flow of water. In other words, there is little to slow the floodwater down.
Earthquakes are another common natural disaster on the list that can cause many fatalities. Earthquakes are caused by the movements of the plates in the earth’s crust. These plates do not always move smoothly and can get stuck, and then cause a build-up of pressure – the reason why earthquakes occur. In addition to this, an earthquake under the water can also cause a tsunami by pushing large volumes of water to the surface causing great waves.
Tsunamis can also be caused by underwater volcanic eruptions which are another natural disaster caused by magma escaping from inside the earth. An explosion takes place, releasing the magma from a confined space, and that is why huge quantities of gas and dust are always released during a volcanic eruption. Inside of the volcano, the magma travels up and then pours out over the surrounding area as lava.
Last but not least, one of the most common natural disasters that we commonly forgot is wildfires. They take place in many different countries all over the world, particularly during the summertime, and can be caused by a range of different reasons. Some of the things starting the wildfires can be totally natural, while others can be manmade, but the speed they spread is entirely down to nature. There are two main natural causes of wildfires which are the sun’s heat and lightning strikes. Other reasons are campfires, smoking, fireworks and many other things caused by humans. The reasons why they spread so quickly are prolonged hot, dry weather, where the vegetation dries out, which is why they often take place in woodland.

Besides society’s most common addictive substances like coffee, cigarettes, and alcohol, it is obvious that Facebook – a cyber phenomenon in the world – has been becoming a serious addiction by people of all ages. In fact, friends, families, colleagues and partners nowadays are no longer happy and excited in engaging a face-to-face conversation. They even feel disconcerted because of having nothing to say to each other. Interpreting this strange and popular situation, Facebook is one of the reasons that people have been blaming it on. Myriad people daily spend hours browsing Facebook, in other words, they are becoming phone heads or phone addicts.
Furthermore, the more people use Facebook, the more jealousy they get. It is obvious that people are naturally inclined to engage in social comparison. For more details, with just a glance at the New Feeds, people can updates from their social cycles; when people see someone who has a happier or more successful life then theirs, such as a new fancy car or an expensive beautiful dress, not only can Facebook make them feel like they are not sharing in their friend’s happiness and success, but it can also make them feel envious of their friend’s wonderful life. As these negative social comparisons happen and accumulate day in day out, human being will definitely get extremely depressed and anxious leading to the antisocial and autism syndromes that can cause a lot of serious consequences, especially the suicide.
Facebook can be awesomely good for humankind if they exploit it properly, and it can also precipitate extremely serious and unpredictable consequences if people excessively abuse and improperly employ it.

The Earth is very old. It has changed often during its long life, and it is still changing. Millions of years ago, when dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus rex were alive, the Earth was much warmer. There was very little ice on the land or on the sea, even in the very north or the very south of the world. And the sea was much higher than it is today.
There have been many changes since that time, sometimes to a warmer climate, sometimes to a colder one. About 20,000 years ago, for example, a time called an Ice Age began. There was ice over much of the world, and it was 3 kilometres deep over much of North America and Europe. And the sea was not as high as it is today. Our climate has changed many times, and it will change again. But now, for the very first time, people are changing the climate. In the year 1900, the Earth was 0.7 C colder than it was in 2000, just one hundred years later. This change did not happen because of the Earth’s orbit – it happened because of us. Some people think that this is a small change. But think about this. A change of just 5 to 7 C can start or finish an Ice Age.
Can the climate change like this? Scientists think that it can – but not as quickly as this. Scientists do not always agree. Some think that the climate is changing a lot, and some think that it is changing a little. Some think that it will change quickly, and some slowly. But all scientists agree that climate change is happening. The important question is this: how dangerous will the change be? Al Gore, who worked next to President Clinton of the USA between 1993 and 2001, thinks that the change will be dangerous. In his film An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore describes how the Earth’s climate has changed. He has talked about the dangers of climate change for more than twenty years, but is he right? Is climate change a dangerous problem? Must we do something about it? And what can we do?
