AeroAdmin is a remote access tool useful for gaining remote control of PCs whether that be for IT support or just remotely accessing one of your own computers from a remote location. It’s a terrific tool, you can find out more about it at www.aeroadmin.com.
When using AeroAdmin, you may need to access the computers at the remote location. There are several ways to accomplish this, including Google Cloud Print, the built in features of some HP printers, and also just remotely accessing a computer that is connected to the printer.
Google Cloud Print
To use this method, you’ll need to have a PC or Mac with Google Chrome installed. Be aware a Chromebook won’t work. First determine if your printer is enabled for Google Cloud Print. Go to the cloud ready printers page and see if your printer is listed. If it has a v2 next to its name, follow the steps for a v2 printer. If it is listed but does not have a v2 next to its name, follow the steps for a v1 printer. If it is not listed, it is not cloud ready, but don’t fret, we can still set it up.
- On your PC or Mac, find your system settings, then find the printing section make sure your printer is installed. Below are guides for doing that

- Open Chrome.
- Type chrome://devices and press Enter.
- Under "Classic Printers," click Add printers. You will need a google account to do this, if you are not already signed in it will prompt you to do so.
- In the "Printers to register" section, select the printer you want to share, then click Add printer[s]. If the printer you want to register isn’t listed here, make sure the printer is installed, as mentioned above.
- To check if your printer was added, click Manage your printers. Now that it is registered to Google Cloud Print, you can share the printer with others. If you’re an IT officer, you may want to do this with yourself. You can read more on doing that here.
- To see that remote printer from outside of google chrome, you’ll need to install a special driver. You can find it here. Note it can only be downloaded and installed from Google Chrome and on a Windows machine.

If you are not currently signed into your Google account on the remote computer, click the blue “sign-in” link at the bottom of the window and enter your Google credentials. Once you have signed into your Google account, select the printer you would like to print locally to and then click print.
